    Gally dorms

If you're a partier, then West is for you. It is definitely the louder and crazier of the freshmen dorms. North is a bit quieter, a LOT less fire alarms, and I think it's a bit cleaner. Feel free to PM me with questions. I just completed my first year at Gally. :)

    Illinois State University

Good ol' ISU. I was there for a year before I got kicked out, though I hadn't planned on staying anyway. They pride themselves on being one of the top deaf ed. programs in the country, yet every year they have to beg residential schools to let them send student teachers there because of their...

    Fall Quarter GPA

Still... Seems confusing. If you had 2 As, 2 Bs and a C, you would have 16/5, which comes out to 3.2. I guess I'm just confused. Nothing new. :)

Most educational interpreters don't get paid very well, unless their freelance and they're certified and interpreting in either a wealthy school or a university. However, freelance interpreters who are certified and working out of the school system typically make very good money. An ASL...

    Vr

I don't know if it's the same everywhere, but at least 2 states that I know of won't support students with VR if they don't get SSI. Sucks for my friends who can't get SSI.

    Fall Quarter GPA

We don't get "report cards" at my university, but that's how they do it. My last university was 4, 3, 2, 1. My current school sets it up this way: A 4.0 B+ 3.5 B 3.0 C+ 2.5 C 2.0 D+ 1.5 D 1.0 F 0 Multiply the grade in the class by the number of credits...

I've seen, and used, all of them. If you've seen Sound and Fury, you'll notice the Deaf mom especially tends to sign "C-I" behind the ear. Sorry if someone mentioned that already, I'm too lazy to read all the comments. ;)

I, King Jordan order to Clerc close down next year !

The dorm is being closed for renovations- nothing wrong with that. It has mold problems, it's old and unsafe, and it needs to be fixed. Their best bet would be to tear it down and start from scratch, which they might do. Where's the problem?

    Fall Quarter GPA

Well, if I get an A, B, B, A and C in my classes, that means I get 4, 3, 3, 4, and 2 credits for each. Add 'em up and divide by 5= 3.2

    Showdown at Gallaudet!

Tent City is alive and well. Right now we have about 20 tents set up, and people are staying overnight. The administration has threatened to have students arrested, but as long as we aren't breaking any laws they can't do anything.

    Gallaudet University's Hearing Undergraduate program

The majority of the hearing students who come to Gallaudet are already ASL fluent and don't need anyone to "slow down." While I do occassionally ask people to repeat, the number of times which I do this seems about equal to how often I ask other hearing people to repeat. Most people at...

Hearing Lecturer in Gally Restroom Peacefully...

I'm bothered that the author didn't take the time to research his statistics. The undergraduate program is 95% deaf, while graduate is about 53% hearing, 47% deaf (+ or - a couple percentage points).

A dumb and deaf girl drowned in a river at Anyinasu

I was more put off by the phrase "got drowned." Apparently the writer didn't "get learned" in proper English.

    CSUN, NTID, Gally?

I have a friend who says that was one of the biggest reasons why he chose Gallaudet. He could have gone to really good schools, but chose Gallaudet because he wanted to, for once, be known for who he is alone, and not just "the deaf kid."
