What happens if someone that is over 21 buys someone that is underage a drink at the resturant or at a bar..what would happen?
Yeah, just like what Pomeranian said.Pomeranian said:Then the owner of the restruant or bar will be in trouble. Perhaps the person who serve the alcohol may be suspense from the job or fire. So they should check out their driver license
Dennis said:Both the restaurant and patron would be in trouble if reported. Since the over 21 person is illegally serving the underage person with alcohol after they've purchased it, they will be the ones punished, but the restaurant will be held responsible because of their neglilence in checking ID's. It's a stretch, really, but since the law wants to discourage restaurants from playing ignorant, they'll hold them responsible too.
That is a crime in the state of Florida. If the child swallows the bottle and dies or gets hurt or hurts someone YOU are liable. Steve YOU go to jail and get sued too. Then the ATF boys come to visit you because you do not have a license to sell liqour. Federal crime. Nice knowing you Steve!ravensteve1961 said:And theyre loopholes around it. A kid can ask an adult to buy booze at the liqour store and theyre get it for them. A kid ask me and gave me a $5 i told give me a $20 ill get it for you. And he said no way,,,Fine no booze find somebody else...He said OK,,,,Heres a $20 why i said you gotta pay for my service fee. Well thats the real world. A car mechcanic charge you a labor fee for his service i should charge you a service fee.

For someone who doesn't like the police, you are doing your best to have a run-in with them. (If I believe all your stories.)ravensteve1961 said:And theyre loopholes around it. Not only is buying alcohol for minors illegal, it is also dangerous for the health and safety of the kid. It is also a big risk for you because a common sting is to use "minors" to try to buy alcohol.
Anyone buying booze for a minor is playing with fire.
what if they checked the ID's ... and this person is 21 and above.. but another person isn't 21 yet.. so therefore why blame the restruant if they did? should blame the person who's responsible who gave alchocol to underage... i've seen friends do that oftenDennis said:Both the restaurant and patron would be in trouble if reported. VamPyroX said:Actually, the person who bought the alcohol would get in trouble... not the person who served it. Who did the actual serving? It was the person purchasing the alcohol. If I bought alcohol for someone else who was under 21, I would get in trouble... not the place selling me the alcohol. Legally, I can purchase alcohol because I am over 21... therefore, the business isn't in trouble. Illegially, I am giving it to someone under 21... therefore, I will get in trouble.
You're sorta right. If it was a bar or club, then they would have stricter responsibility for ensuring that only those who are over 21 can enter or consume alcohol. However, if it was in a restaurant... it might be a different story. They may be given a less penalty or none at all. It's usually where along the chain that it happens. Place served to person over 21... place is fine. Person over 21 served to person under 21. Person over 21 is in trouble. That's pretty much it. Heh!Taylor said:I was going to point that out, however, there is one problem with the scenario. The original post said Restaurant or Bar so my assumption was that this was being consumed on the premises. If that is the case, then the establishment could get in trouble for it.
