I have a little old pill bottle that holds between 50 to 55 pennies. When I come home and empty my pockets, I always put the pennies in that little old pill bottle. When I can no longer put pennies in there, I know I have at least 50 pennies. So, I'll dump them out... count them... then roll them up.I do the same thing too whenever I find a rare coin or if it's a state quarter that I don't have. Most of the time I'd just put it in a separate pocket in my purse wallet so that way I don't have to forget about it if I were to put it in my jeans pocket.
As for the random coins that are general, I just tend to put it in a digital coin jar where it will tell you how much you have in the jar and fill it up.
Definitely, It is a keeper! It could be valuable some day in the future.
As for the quarters, nickels, and dimes... I keep them in my pocket and use those whenever I pay for stuff.

I have a friend who has been collecting quarters for over 25 years. He's got huge jars all over his house.

He says that when he's old and retired, he'll cash them all in.
