Awwww come here :hug: Don't worry we still love ya! But, Afraid so Meg is right. DD has all plans out for us and take care of everything down there all we have to do is show up and get a hotel room, get dress up and meet everyone; ;)

Honestly I don't mind having it elsewhere but as long I am able to afford it and beside DD was the one who stood up and started with this also she could get us some great deals and discounts in St. Louis ....

If others want it elsewhere, just have to be sure who is going to be in charge and make sure it alot cheaper for those on the east, west and out of US....beside we can't just please everyone you know....

I think Ill step out and let you guys make that choice...I was only giving ideas not saying we have to pick that or whatever....

LOL! I know who brought it up and I do think that a good deal too cuz it is Central for everyone could meet half way. I don't mind having it there, It just who would host it... that's all babe! :)

it seems apparent that members are between MO or MN -- IF it becomes apparent that the members has chosen MN over MO -- we need to find out if ANY MN members here would be willing to take over the preparations, looking for hotels and all that associated with the planning to be able to do that cuz its ALOT of work!

even tho theres still time but -- *CALLING all the MN members of AD* any one of u want to consider being chair for this if it turns out MN has been voted over MO qq
 
I have an unoffically mother who works in a hotel (she is a manager) .... and it is in superior, wi... that is only 5 min away from duluth MN... however if i remember correctly MOA would be like 3 hours drive? maybe more or less i cant remember (been so long since i last went to MOA) anyway i dunno if that can help but if you guys decide i can have hotel discount for u all guys and usually it is 50% discount... just a suggestion

by the way i may be wisc/ohio AD member i know MN well enough to be willing to help and have several family members who might wouldnt mind helping too.

Yes, and besides St. Louis is the bastition of oralism (VOMIT) I vote for NYC or Boston (places where I can get to easily)
 
ive been watching this thread for some time -- ive noticed the following cities being suggested:

New York City, NY
St Louis, MO
Omaha, NE
Minneapolis/St Paul, MN
Boston, MA
Washington, DC
Orlando, FL
Los Angeles, CA
San Francisco, CA
Hawaii

with an apparent "competition" betweem MSP, MN and STL, MO from what im seeing on the posts here -- i would think that someone should consider creating a new thread for POLLS -- 2006 or 07 is good cuz it DOES give members a chance to save up and plan for their travels to whichever city it might be if not in St Louis

we also have to consider the members from the above listed cities mentioned, ARE u gonna consider to be volunteer chair to host this AD Caucus (not counting DD cuz shes already made it clear she volunteers for the St Louis Caucus) -- this would mean talking with ur local organization(s) for possible sponsorship, Alex for sponsorship and whatever else that can make this a success

edit: additional thought, those whoever has suggested any of those above cities should also consider posting the link abt the cities in question for anyone who might be interested to learn more abt each of those cities -- just my thoughts *bows out*

heh zesty.. but it is kinda a plm though since duluth is like 3 or 4 hours from stpaul/minnoplis

i do not think anybody would want to drive 3-4 hours to MOA

EDIT: i double checked the distance... the map says its about 2 hours and 20 min... so again.. its totally up to u all

on 2nd thought... i do know lot of tourist places around duluth and can show you guys lot of things... ill have to check the website if theres any info for duluth

The major reason i choose Minnesota Becuase This Moa have alot of resturant inside, with many different group.. they can decide which to sit and have chat... Moa have alot of bars as well too.. even Moa has many many hotel around the MOA.

I choose St. Louis, MO because I have been there so many times and my dad used to live with his ex-gf Angie there.. they r still friends and she knows good deals and etc that she can help me with DreamDeaf if we r gonna have it there.

I can't go to MN because it's too far and for 2007 I got a class renion to attend to and would be busy with Nathan since he would be starting preschool.

I can meet up everyone in 2006.

Cheri, Angel and RoadRunner, since Ohio is not far from Indiana.. you all may meet up at our house and stay for the night and rest before aheading to St. Louis.. please im me on AIM or PM me please thanks..if anyone is closer to where I live.. please PM me also. :)

:eek: me?? umm. i need more MN aders to help me this out.. but since we still baffling where!.. so i am going to sit back and let you guys decided to where first.. if MN, I will roll my sleeves.. and work on it.

Glad to see this thread was re-activated in my absence.

It doesn't matter to me where the AD Caucus is to be, as I stated before, I'd be glad to set it up in StL if it is eventually chosen...

Let me list what we have...

The Gateway Arch
Laclede's Landing (restaurants, shops and bars)
Six Flags Over MidAmerica
St. Louis Zoo
The Science Center
The City Museum
Old St. Charles
Harrah's, Alton Belle, Admiral, Casino Queen, Ameristar Casino
Chesterfield, Crestwood, Northwest Plaza, West County and the Galleria Malls
and many other places to go - we even have the Lewis & Clark Museum in Alton, IL.

As for crime, on paper, it looks bad, but in person...not that way. We have many toursits coming in and out and they've never been robbed, murdered or beaten up.

It's all up to you.

You want Minnesota, I'll go - but be sure you FIND someone willing to take the position as Host and willing to go through with it. We've seen so many people plan events and then quit mid-way. I wouldn't want to see that happen, and I do have a good track record of starting, planning and seeing it through to the bitter end.
