    Newly discovered HOH-ness

I tried that and gave up when i realized that I could sell my car and STILL not have enough for the new aids I needed. Then I'd be out my car and still trying to save more. Fortunately someone recommended vocational rehab. SO now I'm getting new aids that will work with the amplified...

Ticking time bomb in your bathroom? Exploding toilets prompt recall

My old toilet doesn't seem such a pain anymore after reading that. I'll take having to replace parts and seals over having it explode!

Texas woman sues Cowboys over claims that buttocks was burned

This reminds me of a customer we had at work yesterday! It's been in the high 90s here, which is very rare. Most houses don't have air conditioning even. An hour south of Seattle. We are used to rain! It was so hot and the sun was shining right on our doors which have metal brass handles...

    Menieres

Do you get drop attacks or did you just get so dizzy that you fell? I live in fear that I'll start getting drop attacks. I can usually handle being dizzy but drop attacks out of no where would drive me mad!

    Cornell accepted me

CONGRATULATIONS! I know vet school is incredibly difficult to get into. If you contact the school, I bet they would be able to tell you about the good places of town to live in. Check on craigs list for other students looking for roommates or place your own ad. Sometimes schools will even...

    Dissapointed with House Ear Clinic

I have to admit I know almost nothing about the ABR test, but I am very familiar with EEGs and ECGs which test electrical activity in the brain and in the heart. I'm guessing the ABR somehow tests for electrical activity in the auditory nerve? If so, then the results of the test would be...

    Drought, heat bring spiders out

German house spiders and brown recluses look nearly identical. They compete for habitat though. If you know you have german house spiders then chances are you do not have brown recluses.

    Meniere's and Student Loans

I too have meniers. I've been lucky, that my vertigo has been infrequent. With help from vocational rehab for hearing aids, I can still work, but I could so easily be where you are. I definitely signed.

    % vs dB-hate it

Thats what prompted me to get my hearing tested when I first learned I was losing my hearing. I asked my partner if he had felt the little earthquake. He looked at me like I was nuts and said it was a helicopter.

    Ride with Pride!

None of the gay people actually in this discussion read that ad as promoting a special discount. I don't know why you did. It's promoting that kids ride for half off. The sexual orientation of the parents has NOTHING to do with the deal. Discriminating based on sexual preference isn't...

    Ride with Pride!

Being gay doesn't make me stupid. It says kids ride for half price, not "only your kids ride for half price because you're a giant homo". When you see pictures of straight families in advertising do you assume that the advertised deal is only for heterosexuals?

    Why your dog stinks.......

My dog, Sage, STANK when we first adopted her. Baths only helped for a day or so and it's not good for dogs to bathe them frequently so we couldn't give her a bath every other day. We changed her over to a raw meat diet and she has been stink free ever since. Ever her breath and teeth are...

    Dogs and Noises!

Yes, that's what I meant. I meant emotionally sensitive to the noise. Dogs do have very sensitive hearing! Thanks for clarifying. I wonder if the air going through the tube make a high pitched whistle? I had very sensitive high frequency hearing as a kid and all sorts of things would drive...

    constant headaches?

I get horrible headaches and am just exhausted by the end of the day. I feel like I spend all of my energy on trying to fill in all the bits of sounds that I miss. My tinnitus is also really bad. I sleep with a fan on high by my head and that helps some (despite driving my partner crazy. he's...

    Dogs and Noises!

I think some dogs are just more sensitive to noises than others. I have one dog that doesn't seem to notice anything (she's not deaf. she responds to her name) and another that jumps at the sound of her collar clip. I have to put my fingers over it so it doesn't make a noise when I put her...
