That's why that shift is called the Graveyard shift cos everyone's really asleep (dead to the world during the night) :P

I HATE the graveyard shifts, but if I had to do it...then I'll do it. *grumbling*

Heheh...well, it's YOUR choice, not mine. ;) I prefer working during the day time and sleep at night as I LOVE to sleep in the dark! Think I am ? Pfth...

I was in my dorm room at college. I had meant to get up early to meet my friends from the UK who had come to the States for a research project, but I overslept as my only class that day was a 12:45, and I liked to sleep late on that day to make up for the days I had to get up for 8:15s. I remember waking up and being told by my roommates that there'd been an attack on the Pentagon and the WTC. I remember I freaked out totally when they told me. I remember classes were canceled and I spent the day talking with my RAs (it was the beginning of my very first semester at school so I really didn't have any friends back then) I was freaking out b/c my sister was in NYC, and I didn't know if she was OK or not. Thankfully everyone I knew was OK. However my sister's roommate, who works in the Financial District saw the WTC collaspe! In Nov. I went to visit my sister in NYC, and got to see the ruins of the WTC. I didn't want to be a dumb tourist but I wanted to say that I saw the ruins. WOW...quite an experiance!

*Shuddering* -- must've been nerve wracking to see the actual 'Ground Zero' the way it was after the terrorist attack? I know seeing stills and videos of people falling to their deaths from windows from WTC were bad enough...can't imagine how I'd react if I were ever caught in such a situation.

The WTC incident occurs in my Junior year and I was in my computer science class and one of the teacher next door came into the classroom and was talking to our teacher about WTC and was saying how it was on the fire.

We had to go to Cafe where there's a tv and witnessed the second plane crash. :-\

It was scary because our first day of school was day before Sept 11. :-P

Yeah...it must've been scary hearing about the WTC attacks -- Sometimes, I wish I could've turned back the time and being able to predict what was going to happen at the WTC and give people ample warning of the impending disaster. Oh well...shit happens and I know a lot of people who died in the WTC attacks, Pentagon and the 4 planes that crashed into WTC, Pentagon and in Pennyslvania all left behind their loved ones.

I remember when I flew out of Australia a month after 9/11, to spend a month of holiday with my Mum and my sister...I flew into LAX first so I could catch my connecting flight to SFO (for my mum as she lives in California). Both airports were up to their eyeballs with army soldiers and security levels were unbelieveable! I felt scared but at the same time sort of safe, knowing that they were there to protect us as much as possible from possible terrorism attempts.

Same thing at Dulles Airport in Washington, DC and an airport somewhere in MN. :P It was scary and a bleak period at the time ...not just because of the consquences from 9/11, but due to a family tragedy.

I was at my granparents house visiting we were all up just chatting and my Aunt called and said turn on the news we were all  and watched news all day.

Hii I am new to this alldeaf.

That is sooo sad and emotional for me to watch on tv.. my gosh it devasted (sp?) me because not long time before sept 11 I lost my dad.. I know what the families and friends feel when they lost the people they loved. that is so awful to see that.

When it happened I was working at Walmart my friend and co-worker told me about it and I said what?!! that is so painful to hear about that. my friend heard the speaker at work that is why she told me I could not hear. And plus it is my mom and dad's anniversay day and it upset my mom because like I said not long time ago we lost my dad. my mom and I cried together watching. Bless the good people who did help the people etc. The day I will never forget that day. now they are in peace and being happy no more pain in heaven god bless them!!

hope u all don't mind we re fast approaching 2 yr anniversary of this 9/11 So i wanted to share this song that Alan Jackson wrote and sung, he sang it at last yr's CMA ( country music awards) and everyone broke down crying just like i did! here it is...

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day
Out in the yard with your wife and children
Working on some stage in LA
Did you stand there in shock at the site of
That black smoke rising against that blue sky
Did you shout out in anger
In fear for your neighbor
Or did you just sit down and cry

Did you weep for the children
Who lost their dear loved ones
And pray for the ones who don't know
Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble
And sob for the ones left below

Did you burst out in pride
For the red white and blue
The heroes who died just doing what they do
Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer
And look at yourself to what really matters

I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day
Teaching a class full of innocent children
Driving down some cold interstate
Did you feel guilty cause you're a survivor
In a crowded room did you feel alone
Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her
Did you dust off that bible at home
Did you open your eyes and hope it never happened
Close your eyes and not go to sleep
Did you notice the sunset the first time in ages
Speak with some stranger on the street
Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow
Go out and buy you a gun
Did you turn off that violent old movie you're watching
And turn on "I Love Lucy" reruns
Did you go to a church and hold hands with some stranger
Stand in line and give your own blood
Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family
Thank God you had somebody to love

I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young

I was at school, in one of my class.. We all stayed GLUED to the tv most of the day. I coulden't remember which, and it was a friend's birthday too.

I was at high school mainsteam (same skool as AllisonJoy/Hea but I was in different building. There was 2 buildings but 1 same school. 1 was academic where AllisonJoy/Hea was and the building I was in was vocational. All I can remember my teacher IMMEDATELY turn on the tv after a phone call. My guess would be from the office. Anyway, I was totally confused then I look at my interperter to explain what happened. (NO CC ON TV) I then look at the tv and saw the 2nd plane crash. I got more confused and basically was unable to think, focus, or anything else that day. I left that school to go deaf school for another half of the day, I then found out 1 of my teacher was flipping out about her son who was near WTC. She got calm the next day letting us know that her son was okay.

It was also scary because I was 18 at the time. Finally turn 18, free from my mom's rules... I went on the trip like in August, 2 week I think.. or the 3rd. I was in Penn. then on Sept 11th, it happened. I actually sunk on the chair and couldn't think correctly.

About a month later, I was dating with a guy who lives in MA, I live in RI. I took a Bonazona (sp?) bus to MA airport... man, no police, no nothing to protect us from the terrorist then a week later, people start to complain. How nice!

But today to think about it, I'm glad i'm alive today to see the fact the leader of the terrorist's 2 sons had died. They were being shot and killed by our AMERICA! :) HARRAY AMERICA ARMY! AND to my brother - in - law serving our country right now and will be home in Feb, 2004.

As for Java, that song are very teary song. :) I have been lately listen to GOD BLESS AMERICA by LeAnn Rimes. I also am terrified by flying the plane and still not sure if I should go on to fly another countries that I had dream of going to. My boyfriend is fighting with me about traveling methods and I kept saying 1 way of traveling...DRIVING!

Curious, had it change your life?

..

I was in Biology class when that happened .. luckily my school had TVS all in the class - even with CC ;) -- Never forgets!

Overslept.. didnt get up like at 8:30am then had to get up and hurry to dress to get ready for my first day at work at Lab Corp of America... then some lady came in and turned the tv on and we all watched and I was shocked and during my break I went over to my mom's office at UK and contacted Elyse to see if she heard anything about it... it was really sad... its been almost 2 year now

I woke up in the morning and headed to my mail box, my landlord informed me "Come in the community room" and I watched on TV, I say "Oh my shit! it's a old friend lives there!" but old tv not have a CC in the community room, then I headed back to my apt to watch with CC on it. very tragic at the WTC towers :(

I bought a USA flag for my apt window it's fit enuff.

:( Well,I am sorry for digging up this old story, but....
All that wasn't really planed on that day, it could have been on any other day, but it just so happen that it did happen on that day of 9/11. It is the EX-Filipino President Marco's Birthday as well as mine. :( So, when people ask when my B-day is, I tell them (the date), & they feel bad for me & remember the whole history all over again. :( They should have done it on a different day. Sheesh.

i was in my room, my mom came and say pls go with her bedroom, so i puzzled then i walked to her room, saw the tv. i was :ugh: and  wide eyes.. i was shyt... i cant believe that happened... sigh!
