Do you like to run?
Yes or No

Yes or No

No, since after I've ran, no matter how long for, I always have a blood taste in my mouth and get out of breath
I used to run, usually 5 and 10k runs, and one half marathon but my knees were destroyed by chondromalacia. No more running for me.![]()

I only run about 3 times a week.Congratulations!Aww I am aware about the damaged knees.
I first time tried the 10k run at age 40. I did the second time with 10k run last month. I plan to participate 10k run in sept. My goal is to do the 10k for 3 times in 2011. I have never tried the 5K but i dont regret about the first time with 10K race instead. I am working on trying to participate the one half marathon but i am not ready! lol
i know there is no way to avoid or find a way to take it easy on knees.I only run about 3 times a week.

We used to run at least five times a week, and run 5-10k races at least every month.
I called VA clinic today. I have an appointment to see a doctor on Tuesday. My VA doctor is on vacation all month, so I'll be seeing someone else. Sigh....

For long races, it depends on the course. An out-and-back course is usually more boring. A race that starts at one point, goes thru an area of changing scenery, and ends at a distinctly separate finish line is more interesting. That's why the Charleston annual Bridge Race is so popular. It starts in one town, crosses the bridge over the river, and ends up in historic downtown Charleston. The scenery, road surfaces, and elevations change along the route....I refuse to do marathons. They are so boring to me!
Congratulations!
Yeah, the knee thing is a bummer. We used to run at least five times a week, and run 5-10k races at least every month.
Yesterday, my hip started giving me problems. It feels like a sudden painful dislocation, then it tapers off. It's been hitting me off and on several times since yesterday. I looked on the web, and it might be from my Prednisone use. It says it eventually will damage both hips. Ugh! Maybe that's not it.
I'm hobbling around with an old cane now.I called VA clinic today. I have an appointment to see a doctor on Tuesday. My VA doctor is on vacation all month, so I'll be seeing someone else. Sigh....
In the meantime, I'll be limping along. I wish I could run again but right now I can't even go out and work in my garden.![]()
I admire you for running the race every month. I didn't. I only did the 10k run two times. hopefully i will attend the 10k run in sept as it is in my hometown.Awesome! I hate running but I like having goals to work towards to. So I am doing a triathlon next week (3 mile run/10 mile bike/400 yard swim). So I really need to increase my training, especially the running part (weakest one for me!). Ran 3 miles yesterday and the day before, so today I will just do swimming and biking.
Right now, my time completing 3 mile run is TERRIBLE (~40 min). I really want to try to do a 10:00 min pace.
