Run

why not run outside?
I put in much better workouts on treadmill than outside. I get "lazy" when I run outside. I like to run and watch tv same time.
I run outside. Asphalt, grass, dirt, pavement. Lots to see and can go long time.

In 10 years, I have run on a treadmill less than 20 times, mostly on vacation.

Fastest first mile is 6:20-30, fluctuates. That doesn't really matter though, unless you want to get 2 miles under 16:00 like they have in the marines.

Total overall miles is the best, like marathons.
Well, back in May I ran 2 miles in 16 mins and I almost puke. I have ran 3 miles several times under 26 minutes. I just started running in Jan. I know a farmer can run 3 miles under 15 minutes.
Both. I like outside the best. I use treadmill only if it were raining outside or workout classes at the ymca.
Cool.
Did you know? Run cause bad for your knee
New running shoes help me knees a lot.

you know that treadmill is "running" for you?

I love to run. I run around 5.1 miles a day, sometimes 3. That's only when I'm not incorporating hard workouts into my workout regimen. I love to run on the street at night since there were no cars around 11 to 5am in the morning.

I find that running on the treadmill is no go for me since I get bored, lazy, and my performance isn't up to par compared to the street. However, when I hit the gym, I usually run 2.00 to 3.00 miles on the machine with weight-loss intervals, using inclines and speed changes.

After I complete the treadmill, I know I am losing calories but I quickly hit the workouts around the gym focusing on the upperbody. Today, I focused myself on my right part of the body that is not quite so developed as my other. I am trying to get my right as developed as the other. I know that as a personal trainer, you not only need to train others on how to lose weight, gain muscle mass, and maintain a good workout regimen without straining your body over the limit but also market your body in a very good way, bringing in more clients.

Currently, I'm saving up money so that I can start focusing on getting my NASM certification. I may work my way down to ACE too to combine these two. NASM is the reputable certification you can use for the gyms as a workplace. I'm really interested in working out my whole life, and helping others to lose weight and stay strong, lean.

And Jiro's right, working out on the treadmill IS running.

5 ks runs is really good, just do it habitually which is probably better for you than pushing and pushing the whole body gets 'tuned' with much better blood flow and stronger lungs
plus less sore feets

I remember running health important to water and outside reduce your weight because your less on execrise strong your health!

Good, I dont have to run in cold, snow, ice, rain and in heat wave. :)

Treadmill is the best. Same as running on streets.

I live in rural area and cannot hear dogs chase me if that happens.

I think running on streets are tougher than being on the treadmill because streets aren't flat or equally. I can run on the threadmill for more than an hour but outside on the street, I manage to finish the 6.2 miles. I need more practice outside more than being on the threadmill.

Oh, have you ever bitten by a dog before?

Wow, you in good shape. I just ran three miles without stopping in 25:40 mins.

No,I wasnt bitten by a dog in my life. There is a lot of lose dogs in my rural area. A lot of farm land. I also dont want to get run over by a vehical. I just feel safer on treadmill. I sometimes run on incline. :)

I try my best to stay in shape so i can take care of my two adorable babies well. I haven't been gone outside yet due to the damn humidity. I do need to do that real soon before september comes. eh. so what percent of the inlicine did you usually? Mines just 5.

I ran 7.25 miles last 3 days. I dont use incline very much, if i do, incline on level 2,1,.05. depends how im feeling.

This morning, i finally got my ass out of the house and run for 45 minutes with a very small lot of waves streets. I felt SO great!!! I need more practice to run outside before sept 17 for the 10K. This week I have to fill out the form. One thing is that im concerned i don't know whats my girl's softball (fall) season's schedule yet. Since my boy got a football game on the same day as my 10K. they won't see me running there that I don't mind. I pray that my girl's game won't be on the same day or who will drive her to the softball game.

ahhhhh

10k? Yikes.

I ran 5K last night!(26:30) First time this yr. I am proud. Maybe next spring, I run 10K. :)

Just did another triathlon!
600 yards swim, 16.2 miles bike, 3.1 miles run.
Did relatively good on the swim and bike but, of course, not on the run. Running is still my weakest activity!! Will focus on just running for now.

Are you a good swimmer? Do you have access to a lap pool? Do you have a bike (mountain or road)? Seems like you'd rock on the running part!

lol YMCA do have a good pool and I do have a mountain bike. I think I may be ok with riding the bike but swimming may be my biggest weak. you see i was a beach girl in long island, what did beach girl do, just lying down on the sand and baked under the sun. I do not have anyone who can show me how to swim faster you know? like record and timer etc.

forgot to say, good tip for running, well when selecting running shoes, rub you hand against the sole, get the feel of it, is it grippy? more grips than the next shoe? if yes that's better...the more grip there is better shoe it is, because when running for a long time, it will wear out, and still retain some grips for you so you dont slip and also it helps to keep your feets straight (so no ankle twisting, or slow-twist that can cause aches often show up a day after the run
bee really fussy about how shoes should hold the heel/ankle side good and the toes side to have no slipping WITHout any tightness rubbing the toes on the sides so you avoid blisters...

thats all i can say

also Daredevil, for running, try keep you hands loose and slow for the longer distance running ,i dont know how you run but im only guessing that you tire out too quickly because cleashed fists and hands swinging too high in front of you? marathon runners swing their hands/arms low to conserve energy...hope that helps (if im right about your arms swing too tightly to the body and too high) so just relax your arms abit

if/when i pop over i can help with your swimming

No thanks.

I have done a 1 mile running at high school.

I strongly prefer walking, swimming, and taking my maniac dog outside.

That's it.
