What do you think about it?

As for my opinion, if it makes the indivial happy then go for it as long as it doesn't go too far or end up looking scary like Micheal Jackson.

I saw TV show named Swan.., about plastic surgery, once deaf lady there got plastic surgery, beautiful than before ugly,
for me, NAH, I am looking fine :)

Does this plastic after surgery even last? I don't have a problem if someone wanted plastic surgery, but I'm not sure if I would want that on my body. :dunno:

Depends on what kind of surgery. If it is facelift, it will be average 7 years... between 5 - 10 years at best.

I personally dislike plastic surgery, it is unnatural for me but again, I am a person who tend to be more aware of health-related issues so I have little or no trouble with 'skin' conditions. But as for others, it is their decision and their money.

not sure? try ur right body ur natural beauty and ur left>plastic surgery :D

If I could afford it, I would have a facelift in a flash.

I personally don't care or dislike plastic surgery. It's not necessary. The way God created me for who I am and really thankful God. If there is anything happen due to accident on face or body. Plastic surgery (or facial surgery) can be done to "fix" on face (or/and body). Plastic comestic or surgery is very expensive and totally not necessary.

I think plastic surgery is necessary only if a person needs it. I don't really see any point of having plastic surgery just to look better than already is.

After I passed 50, gravity started pulling my face down. I don't want to change it. I just want to pull it back up again. :) I don't like looking old and tired on the outside because I don't feel that way on the inside.

I absolutely agree with you. Personally, I think plastic surgery has it's place such as when a person needs reconstructive surgery to correct cranio-facial deformities, or has a breast cancer, or has been burned, or if they are bothered by a physical complaint such as back pain caused by a large chest. However, to have surgery just for the sake of vanity is, in my opinion, selfish. Our skin wasn't meant to be stretched and restretched over time. If you don't agree with me, take a look at Joan Rivers. She's in her 70s, and she looks plastic because of all the "nips and tucks" she has had over the years.

I agree :thumb: I am with you on that one, I dislike plastic surgery too and even breast implants. I have read that a lot of women who had their breast implants had problems. God made me who I am, Why would I want to change myself into someone I am not supposed to be. Plastic surgery is not natural for anyone. Some look like they came out from 6 feet under, They don't even look good. Even Pamela Anderson cannot have a shirt that would fit her. Her breasts are out everywhere. It doesn't look good, Men thinks they look good on Pamela Anderson but can they handle being with someone like her? without getting jealous? I think not. :giggle:

I assume no one here uses make-up, whitens their teeth, colors, conditions, or perms their hair, plucks their eyebrows, shaves their legs, gets tatoos, pierce their ears, straightens their teeth with braces, wears contacts, wears fashionable clothes or jewelry, uses nail polish and hand lotion, etc. No one at Alldeaf cares about their appearance? I confess, I am vain. :)

Yes, I do wear make up not all the time but sometimes, I do brush my teeth, washed my hair, curly iron my hair etc. But that not the same thing as getting a plastic surgery, I don't have to get on some operation table and put to sleep to have make up putted on or brush my teeth and etc. :giggle:

I would have to say that while face-lifts and breast enlargements and reductions are usually for the benefit of making one look better - (and in rare cases, to please that one's significant other...I've heard of women who get breasts done because their husbands want them to!)...I do think that it should be limited to those who actually need it...like those who were born with some type of deformity or horrible facial or bodily feature that only surgery could correct.

While I think we are not helping society's children (especially teenage girls) by promoting plastic surgery...(just think about it! "Mom...so and so has bigger boobs than I do...and so and so over there has the perfect nose...I want one, too!!!")...there are cases in which it IS needed. *shrugs* I'm all for minor changes, like make-up, eyebrow tweaking, shaving legs, etc...that's acceptable...paying thousands and thousands on a plastic surgeon for vanity reasons only is, in my opinion, repulsive. And yes, this coming from one who hates her nose...I truly do. It is a part of me, though, and I do not believe that reconstructing it in any way would help my self image.

Everyone has their own beauty within. That is what must be remembered! Where there is love and compassion for someone, there is no need to go under the knife.

I really don't want to change my looks; I just don't want to look so old. I have a bold Portuguese nose, and a "petite" build but I don't want to change those features. Hubby says, "whatever you want; I am happy with you the way you are." I would never use Botox because I am a terp and I need to have an expressive face. However, as a terp, I do have a lot of people staring at my face on the job every day. :)

I want people to recognize me. I just want them to think, wow, Reba looks healthy.

My daughter is 31 years old and she has never wanted plastic surgery.

I am sure your bold features make you all the more recognizable, Reba . I myself have a nose I wish I could erase and say "do-over!" But then I have had others say that they like my nose - and the freckles I have on it. Plastic surgery is not an option for me. You are a terp, so I am fairly certain that your signing and facial expressions are more important to someone than your looks. ;) I am glad you agree with that, having said that you wouldn't change your features.

Looking old isn't a bad thing, you know...but if it truly gets to someone, I'd recommend a bottle of hair dye before I'd refer someone to a plastic surgeon.

It may or may not surprise to you, foods is very powerful force. You will be surprised how much effect it can be on you. I mean 'youngness' looks and such. My mother is over 50 years old but she looks like she is 30 - 35 years old while my aunt & uncles (my mother's side) looks so aged or looks older than their ages. My aunt & uncles (mother's side) did not eat ... well. One of them is a chain-smoker. [edit] all of my aunt & uncles have white hairs while my mother still don't have the white hairs [/edit]

I am sure that you are a great person and have a inner beauty which makes you looks greater. Actually I know what you were trying to say but in most cases, inner beauty makes us more handsomer or prettier.

Unfortunately, I am over 50, and I look over 50. :( It is mostly sun damage and hereditary. My family doesn't have strong facial bone structure (except for the noses), so everything sags.

I have never been a smoker or drinker, I am careful about my food, take vitamins and calcium, and I exercise outdoors.

Well, anyway, I'm not getting a facelift anytime soon. I can't afford the surgery, and the VA Hospital won't do it.

If I do get a facelift someday, I will update my avatar so you can see the difference, ha, ha.
