Plastic Surgery

Reba, I don't know if you do have an insurance or not, if you do... does it covers the plastic surgery or not? I wonder if is it possible for insurance to cover the plastic surgery fees?

No, I don't have medical insurance. We just use the military and veterans hospitals. They have very strict criteria for plastic surgery, so they refused me, so far.

I'm unsure of this, Mag, but I believe that insurances won't cover plastic surgery unless there is a medical need for it such as a breast reduction to cure back pain and posture problems, or a rhinoplasty to take care of a deviated septum. Insurances will cover breast reconstruction after a cancer diagnosis, too.

That makes sense because plastic surgery is not emergency or require urgent attention. In broad sense, it is just a cosmetic.

Does insurance cover plastic surgery?
Most cosmetic procedures are not covered by health insurance. There are some exceptions, including rhinoplasty used for reconstructive purposes or to improve breathing. Another example is having blepharoplasty in order to improve your vision. However, check with your insurance provider and your surgeon to see if your procedure is covered.

Which it says most not covered by health insurance, So I would check insurance provider to make sure which covers.

My Grandmother (Maternal Mother) had a facial liftup when she was over 60's. I looked at her picture before and after the surgery. She looked the same after surgery except her eyebrows slightly like Mr. Spock. How strange?

I also forgot to mention that insurances cover recontructive surgeries for those who are afflicted by cranio-facial deformities. Beyond that, it's case by case, or not at all.

I think plastic surgery is necessary only if a person needs it. I don't really see any point of having plastic surgery just to look better than already is.

True, I do not against if anyone want to have plastic surgery because it's their own decision. It's fine with me if they are happy with their decision.

To me, I think plastic surgery is only neccassary to correct if anyone are not happy with their long noses, reducation breast, and also correctnew breast after lost to cancer, burnt body etc.

I think that's fine. I'm talking about women who think they have small boobs. I've seen women who say that C-cup is too small or too big. Come on... C-cup is average and men like that size. I've seen women who have noses that look just fine, but they rather have it pointed like Michael Jackson. I've seen men who think they have ugly muscles (they already look like Van Damme) so they have implants to make them look like they have muscles.

The sad thing is that they have to work hard with the rest of their bodies in order for the implants to match. If a woman grew older, her boobs would sag but still stick out like poorly-placed apples. If a guy grew older, he would have weird bumps on his chest while the rest of his body is skinny and old.

I think comestic surgery (veneer for teeth, hair implants, boobs, ass, etc etc) is only to boost others' self esteem... especially those with signficant scarring on face or something. In some aspects it can be useful, and in some other aspects it can be excessive. Only we can decide that boundary for ourselves, I think? Although... I think Joan Rivers and MJ should take it easy on the knife. :laugh2:
