Name Sign for Obama?

I had to make a video explaining how to make a sign for Lincoln.

Pardon the blurry cam...I forgot I have crappy lighting and the cam is on low-light boost. Will try to make a better video next time.

That's the way I sign them, as you described.

Even hearing people use the "loser" sign that you describe.
 
A video really helps for sure than explaining in words, thanks Sablescort! I just remembered that people in my area sign Abraham Lincoln with A and L on the side of forehead just like you said with L, but add A.

If I were a betting man....

I would settle this down:

Make the "O" for Chicago.

At least they know where President Obama is from. I know of no cities that uses the Chicago/Boston/Texas sign with an "O". Let's us all make President Obama the only person with his own Chicago/Boston/Texas sign.

That should do wonders and not be so offensive...
 
haven't seen name sign for obama yet... like jolie said I'm sure we will soon.

yeah clinton as "C" in "lying" is the only sign I know and even though I know it's offensive, I signed it anyway - habit (that's because when I first heard about clinton after an affair) and lazy to spell. I would never know who you're talking about when you sign "C" by the eye.

nixon and regean - I've seen what jolie described too. also this another sign for regean, I wouldn't use it because he wasn't a retard.

AL - I know "AL" by side of forehead - I understand you tousi but ASL does depends on expression by 60% and they can sign A..L (facial expressing a duh!) another sign I know of AL (followed by his statue at jefferson building in D.C.) is "A" on right hand and "L" on left, as in "smacking a bill (paper) on table proudly". let me know if anyone wants a video of it.

Stop hear again. It's true and it's hurt. It seem that most of my interpreter were against on Clinton. I was youth and clueless. Shush
 
Well....time for my :2c: worth....

Being taught as the school of "prim and proper" in ASL--I was taught differently inregards to the signs for Presidents.

George Washington--It has always been the sign of "President" and then G-W from the shoulder out--representing him being the general during the Revolutionary War.

Abe Lincoln--again, sign of "President" and letter 'L' from the ear down to the chin--representing his beard. I have also seen the 'L' on the top of the forehead. I never use that as it makes it look like the sign of "loser."

Bill Clinton--Sign "President" and then the letter 'C'--shake it back and forth. Almost the same sign as a "democrat".

As for Obama--I would sign "President" and then the letter 'O'--shake it back and forth --almost like the sign for "democrat."

Anyway I was taught when you are signing and talking about the President--always sign "President" -- FIRST as a sign of respect.

Cool but unfortunately--isn't that the sign for Omaha? I've seen deafies from Omaha sign that for their town.

Yeah! My lil cousin does know what is sign "L" on forehead mean loser. He is hearing and don't know sign. But He know few of words like hearing's sign.
 
obama name sign

the sign i learned was make an "O" (around your chest area, watevs) then turn it into a 4 with your palm towards you, bringing it up past your shoulder. this is supposed to be like the o for obama, then the little rainbow thingy he has in his logo

Interesting although I had some difficulty signing that.

Actually instead of signing that by one's chest--it should be out in the "space". Letter 'O' and then the rainbow.......

Thoughts?
