If you have your own kid...

I prefer my kids to watch educational TV shows like Sesame Street and cartoons. Yes, Tom and Jerry, Flinestones, Scooby Doo, etc....

Barney... well, it is annoying to some parents. Shrugs. :wiggle:

My 3 yr old son loves to watch many shows on Nickelodeon, Disney, and even likes to watch Animal Planet sometimes, it depends on his mood. If i was watching something like, 7th Heaven, He'd pretend he is one of the actors and copying their expressions and movements in the show

My other son who is 6 1/2 months old, (7 mos on Sept 6)
well... he likes to watch any cartoons on Nickelodeon and Disney, but doesn't pay attention to it much, hes mostly focused on playing with his toys. The only thing that will get his attention is if we had baseball or football on tv.. he likes watching it, which surprises me..

any kiddie show but BARNEY :madfawk:

Yeah, I am with you there 110%!

When I get fed up with the kids talking and singing Barney this and Barney that all damn day long, I do this trick. For lunch, I tell the kids as I pour them grape juice/koolaid, "Oh, by the way, kids, isn't *THAT* a delicious drink?!?! Yes?? I have a secret to tell you. :big grin: Because you talked Barney all the damn time, I decided to punish him and kill him, draining him dry of his purple blood. *gasp!* Oh, wait, you're drinking it right now!"

I guess you just crossed my name off the list of your future children's potential babysitters. ;)

Blue's Clues, Bob the Builder, Sponge Squarepants, and few other educational shows. (I don't have television cable, so I use videotapes for my boys to watch.)

oh boy.. no one answer my question about ASL videos for kids age 1-5.. any one know of one? i know blue clues show a little bit.. any more?

How about making my daughter watch only reruns of this:

*MARCIA! MARCIA! MARCIA!*

I'd rather let her only watch '50s to early '80s shows

btw Barney...fuggetboutit!
this show is too old but, you can let her watch the disney show. :)

Yeah, Tom & Jerry is gonna be kick! ;) Barney is so suckkkk or annoying those kids.

I'll let my kids see Walt Disney, History, and Science movies and channels.

I don't have any kids but once I do I think I would find copies of Duck Tales and Chip & Dale, I was still watching that well into high school and would watch it now if it was on.

if i have human kids (if i have kids at all in this lifetime) i would let the kids watch cartoons and disney movies and put on the parental controls for alot of channels i would NOT want the kids to see

but my other thought is cartoons are also pretty violent -- look at Wile E Coyote always scheming to kill Road Runner! isnt that violent qq this is now the biggest argument with today's kids being more aggressive and etc and TV being the biggest influence

My daughter loves Blues Clues, Dora the Explorer, The Wild Thornberries, RugRats, The Party Animals (New Zealand show, where each of the 5 characters uses one of the senses and they figure things out together), Hi 5, Little Bill, Hey Arnold, Bumble. She's not allowed to watch a lot of TV each day though.

As for programs with sign, Blues Clues is the only international one I've seen. There used to be one in New Zealand called 'After School' but they stop making that when I was a kid! The guy who used to sign on it, plays a talking bilingual (Maori & English) fish on 'Bumble' a tv show here now. I wish he still play a character with hands! LOL!

I'm wondering if there's any cartoon or kid's movie, show etc.. that have ASL included? i been looking for one.. saw some like "blue clues". but it didn't show much. any of you know of one that shows alot of ASL?

There should be a show coming up soon called Christy's kids - hosted by Christy Smith - from survivor show....she shared the details with us and it should be out first locally and probably nationally next year or something like that:)

Not exact sure with the details but that's the best I know so far:)
