No wonder that Walmart got the easter candy and stuffs out already today. I was at Walmart. Geez wayyyyyyyyyyy to early. I gotta move my butt to get the stuffs for my son. Geez

I think it's nice to have these holidays. However, I think it's annoying when businesses take advantage of these holidays and compete with each other with advertising. I remember when Halloween started advertising very early. As soon as Halloween was over, Thanksgiving AND Christmas decorations were being put up. I remember going to the mall during Thanksgiving Break and seeing the whole mall covered with fake snow, holiday decorations, and holiday sales. Jeez... Thanksgiving Day hasn't even arrived and they're already advertising for it? I remember being younger and it wasn't done that early. It's just businesses competing with each other trying to be "first" at everything. Now, back to the subject of Easter and St. Patrick's Day... I don't really celebrate them. The only thing I really do for St. Patrick's Day is wear green. The only thing I do for Easter is... um... pretty much nothing. Heh!

Looks like I gotta get my ass bouncing then...St. Pat's Day is a MUST for me, especially this year!

yeah, I notice they decorated Halloween when the school was started ! I do not see, they do not honor Thanksgiving's Day much. :(

Easter is important for the children to honor Jesus raise from the cross.

I wonder why they put bunny (rabbit) example of Easter ?? Who invest a bunny??

Actually, it's for religious purposes. What's the purpose of Christmas Day? It's to celebrate the birth of Jesus. However, for entertainment purposes... they use Santa Claus. Easter is to celebrate the arising of Jesus. However, for entertainment purposes... they use the Easter Bunny. Not everyone understands religion. ;)

The Easter Bunny

"Here comes Peter Cottontail
hoppin' down the bunny trail
Hippity hoppity
Easters on its way!"

The Easter bunny has its origin in pre-Christian fertility lore. The Hare and the Rabbit were the most fertile animals known and they served as symbols of the new life during the Spring season.

The bunny as an Easter symbol seems to have it's origins in Germany, where it was first mentioned in German writings in the 1500s. The first edible Easter bunnies were made in Germany during the early 1800s. And were made of pastry and sugar

The Easter bunny was introduced to American folklore by the German settlers who arrived in the Pennsylvania Dutch country during the 1700s. The arrival of the "Oschter Haws" was considered "childhood's greatest pleasure" next to a visit from Christ-Kindel on Christmas Eve. The children believed that if they were good the "Oschter Haws" would lay a nest of colored eggs.

The children would build their nest in a secluded place in the home, the barn or the garden. Boys would use their caps and girls their bonnets to make the nests . The use of elaborate Easter baskets would come later as the tradition of the Easter bunny spread through out the country.

"Oh! here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Hippity hoppity
Happy Easter day"

No, I don't decorate except Halloween, Christmas and Flag Day. I'm pathetic. My daughter is going to be 2 years old this Christmas so I should decorate every holidays to make fun worthwhile. My mom used to decorate every holidays for my brother and I. It was fun back then. :)

Can't believe Easter is in March... :ugh:

I used to decorate the house when married but since Im a single mom, I can barely survive. I still have some Christmas decorations and have no time to put them away!!

I feel bad that I dont decorate my house anymore - but it is too much when I got tons of things to do on top of working long hours.

yeah, that is true 80 hrs a week. I notice, my apartment becomes dust very fast because I could not catch up to do chore around the house on Sundays. I need to focus on important other things to do.

I must do chore around the apartment to paint in the bathroom and cabient in the kitchen before America Chopper's mom fly here next weekend.

Hopefully, the wedding arrangement will be completely soon.

I am trying to decoration easter stuff but it is only ten days from St Patrick's Day.

My sons are not really care about Easter this year. They are too old for that!
