As A Child, What Was Your FIRST Sign Language?

My parents taught me ASL since i was born.

at about 11 month old, my first sign is "BUTTERFLY"

few weeks later, i sign more words and some sentences.

I didnt sign "mom" or "dad" until much later.:thumb:

since i am latent, this thread doesn't apply to me, but my son's first sign was "eat" at 6 mos. it is still his favorite sign, two years later.

 I never remembered my first "sign" and I've never asked my mother. She explained to me that she'd used "baby signs" (or "baby talk") with me before I'd used ASL. She'd told me the baby sign for "water" and, yep, my memories clicked with that sign.

As for this thread, my first language is American Sign Language. Thanks be to God for my early language development.

I didn't spoke or sign much much later until age of 3 but my first sign was mama. I was taught by Specialist.

My first sign language was ASL. I didn't begin using SEE until much later in life. My first signs were "water" and "milk." Even as a toddler, I had a severe drinking problem, heh heh. Before I began kintergarten, I'd learned the entire fingerspell alphabet and numbers to ten.
