Hey...I was thinking and I did mention it to a fellow ADer (IRL) and ... well I'm gonna go ahead and say this.

How about a gathering? Maybe in a central location? Say St. Louis, MO?

We could meet here and have a "caucus" ... maybe have Alex give a few lessons in AD usage, the mods introduce themselves...and all the members given a chance to mingle and get to know each other better IRL?

I was thinking about 2006 or 2007 in order to give our over the pond cousins a chance to come here...you know, save some money for the trip.

How about it?

Hmm, that is totally good idea. I am all for it. It will give us more time to save the money and meet each other.
 
yeah its a nice idea, and someone did had the idea of meeting and it did happened once in NY but too bad i wasn't there. heh. As long as its somewhere the club or restaurant or hotel, not someone's house or apt. no way!!
 
I think it’s a great idea, but I think we should have it at bbnt’s house. Let him pay for all the booze and refreshments.
 
I was thinking about meeting in a hotel in downtown St. Louis, where we can go sightseeing and you can get up in the Gateway Arch...have a few talks by Alex and the mods and maybe a banquet the last night ... maybe the weekend from Fri to Sunday. Something like that, not like a meeting weekend but something relaxed and loose enough taht we can sit and talk and meet with peeps that we've tormented over AllDeaf and/or drove them just plain silly.

I'll be happy to make up a twisted AllDeaf theme song and sing it for you all...if Reba agrees to sign for me. Heh. :deal:

St. Louis?

St. Louis is the most crime-ridden city in the USA with Washington D.C. being the murder capital.

No offense to these who live in St. Louis and Washington D.C., but a city with a good reputation is needed in this situation.
 
If everyone is in agreement, and if Alex approves it, I will hunt up a hotel that is willing to take an onslaught of ADers...smiles.

It could be Marriott, Adam's Mark, Reinassiance, Days Inn, whatever....
 
St. Louis?? Ohhh...wouldn't that be awesome, cuz it's not far off from my hometown in Iowa! I've been in the greater St. Louis area a numerous of times...and it's a great area for a large gathering...soo many places to see and visit...all in good walking distances...good idea there DD...*ahems*...gives you a few days away from postwhoring...heh heh! :rofl:

as long as u know someone -- I guess or whoever u feel comfortable with for roommate at hotel.

It might be a little difficult for some people to have roommates as strangers from online etc.. *shrugs*

I voted Yes, I'd like an AD Caucus in St. Louis, MO in 2006! but depend on what Month, Fee to pay, and Etc....I need more informations when you are ready to fly out! Also need to talk with DF first about that! :)

yes thats great idea but may i suggest a slightly smaller town near st louis... cuz huge cities alway is confusing and dangerous... and we all could take a trip to st louis together for seesighting and etc... but can relax in a bit smaller town near st louis?

I think bbnt should pay for all of our airfares and car rentals, too.

bbnt ...I like to fly first class and live in high style so keep that in mind.
 
just give me a car bbnt... ill be more than glad to drive and oh yea give me some money for gas and motel :-D
