Are there any devices or special telephones that permits a deaf person to hear on or use the telephone?

I have heard of digital hearing aids for few years now. A new tech and everything good. Does anyone where them? How is it different from the orginal ones? I am looking forward to a new pair next month.... Alot of money shedding outta ma pocket just for 'em lol.
