For the most part, Democratic Presidents have had a history of initiating peace talks before engaging in war, so I have no doubt that Obama will do the same.
As for Al Qaeda, I don't think they will ever be eliminated completely.

I see that most people voted "economy" first, and "fight terrorism" at the bottom.
Suppose that another huge terrorist attack happens in the USA soon after Obama is sworn in. Would that change people's priority for the President? Or would they continue to care most about the economy?![]()
I hope such a thing doesn't happen. I'm just curious if people would change their priorities if it did happen.Only time will tell if it happens.
