    Hold the Dream

I am reading this amazing book by Barbara Taylor. I am getting even more excited as I venture deeper into the climax. Suddenly however, I am jolted to a halt, that is when I realise that the next page isn't there, my book is missing a leaf. All the elation evaporates immediately and is replaced...

    Dad learning englsih....

I am like bhahaha just imagining it. Reminds me of a true story here in Malawi: a group of foreign tourists asked their local guide to teach them a few greeting words in the local vernacular. But for some strange reasons the guide instead taught them words of profanity. Now when the tourists...

    How to remember names

You see, I am still fighting tooth and nail to memorise the system first, then I shall get down to practicing it, I hope that will not take me light years upon light years.

    How to remember names

That is what my deaf friends do(I have not yet grasped the art myself). They study you and settle on some unique feature about your looks(appealing or otherwise). Well, nobody cares whether you will be offended or not. Altenatively, if part of your name matches that of a well kown fellow, such...

    How to remember names

I find that I keep forgetting everyone's name, both friends and relatives. I find it quite awkward to ask a friend to remind me their name, he is like 'this guy doesn't even remember my name and yet we are friends'. When I say I know someone, it is more often than not that I know them by...

How many of you had parents who refused to accept deafness?

My parents were and still are awesome to me. They didn't treat me any differently than the other kids.

How many of you had parents who refused to accept deafness?

Such is life. More often than not it is about accepting what comes along the way that dictating what you want it to be. There are times you face it with a heavy grudge because you realise it's no use fighting it.

    Sex before marriage?

Sorry about my mistaken counting :-), Ambrosia. As for 'proper confirmation' or contract, I think it does not have to be necessarily written. However, as Grummer has pointed out, we live in a corrupt and sad world where things are never perfect. As such, the papers and lawyers may become part...

    Sex before marriage?

Look, don't keep mentioning the 'paper'. I seriously believe that marriage is the bond formed by the relationship based on love, the certificate and the lawyers are outsiders really.

    The Lost Friendship

Has this happened to any of you: You were the best of childhood friends, and then had to go separate ways, perhaps your family is moving out of the area. Now after some 15 years or so of not being in touch you finally meet again! However, you just cannot get along, it's kind of awkward. You...

    Sex before marriage?

Yeah, and doesn't that commitment need some sort of proper confirmation?

    Did you notice?

How did you tell who hears or not? Did you ask everyone here or are there some indicators? Curious.
