I have a question about asking questions

Ok, I'm trying my hardest to understand if how i'm understanding this is correct. When asking a question to someone and you use the (ask-to) sign (sign for letter x but index finger goes up and down a couple times) does it work in these examples how i'm thinking it does. Signing: Milk...

    Kinda proud of myself

Perhaps when I started learning, what was being used wasn't "ASL"? Sign language none the less, but not ASL. I guess I couldn't say for certain. edit-------------- Found this thread from yahoo http://www.alldeaf.com/sign-language-oralism/47928-asl-see-pse-etc.html Definitely wasn't ASL...

    Parent problems anyone?

Consult with a doctor. Depending on where you are, a doctor may have no problem just giving you some helpful advice. She may require some hospitalization. There are medicines that can treat some of the symptoms of this sickness. I'm sure your mother loves you very much and yes, it can be...

    Kinda proud of myself

Just got to the link in regards to saying you twice "Are". I was taught using the sign for "are" when asking How are you? But lifeprint says it's not asl. Most people seem to know what I was saying though.

My apologies for that Anij. I was not thinking. Basically they went through the alphabet and show a word that starts with that letter.

    Kinda proud of myself

I'm not just learning from songs, but it helps me get in a groove of listening to the words, looking up the words on songs that I like and learning those words and signing it as I sing along. But that is not the only method I use. I look up random words that may be used and learn them and...

    Kinda proud of myself

I'm a guy, aslpro.com is my new best friend as of lately. I check every word on there. The majority of the words I learned that are listed above came from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCb7yaK1-q4 Granted it is probably geared more towards kids, but it is helpful in learning...

    Senstive to feelings

If they are your friends, they would strive to learn ASL to better speak with you and include you in the things they are doing. Not saying some of them are or aren't, I don't know, but I understand how if can be frustrating if your friend does know, but some of his/her friends don't know asl...

    Roll Call in Wisconsin

Ok, as mentioned in a previous post I am going to organize a meetup or 2 in the La Crosse, Tomah, Mauston areas. Would like to see how many people live within driving distance or would be interested in a monthly or bi monthly Deaf Coffee Chat. I am related to the owner of Java Vino in...

How do I find Deaf people in my area?

The Deaf Coffee Chat only has 2 places in Wisconsin, none near me. I think I could get a place in Lacrosse added. It's about an hour away, but I am related to the owner of Java Vino in LaCrosse, I would have to talk to her but I bet she would be more than willing to allow a monthly meetup...

Deaf Sensitivity Training Video for Police Officers

The skit was a call was for domestic abuse, I don't believe they need permission to enter when there is reasonable belief that someone may be hurt inside, the 911 call gave that reasonable belief.
