Has anyone studied at Gallaudet as an International student?
If so, I'd love to read about your experiences!
I'm considering applying for Master of Arts in Deaf Studies at Gallaudet, however I'm from Australia...and well, the funds haha. US$53,000 for one whole year  (close to...
Got travel plans for the new year?
I'm off to Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia and Thailand in March 2014 for 4 weeks with two friends. Very much looking forward to it!
Has anyone had experience working or volunteering overseas?
I'm looking into it - be it volunteering at a Deaf school in a developing country (Nepal for example), camp counselor at a Deaf summer camp in the USA (Camp Mark 7 for example), or as an aupair/nanny somewhere in the world.
Holy damn.
It's been so long since I was here last.
I doubt any of you would remember me (apart from JClarke, a fellow Australian )
Anyways, I'm Sherrie from Sydney, Australia.
So...
HI! :)
Hiya!
Just wondering if anyone from here will be making the trek to Sofia, Bulgaria for the upcoming Deaflympics in July??
I'll be there - already booked flights and accommodation - it will be one long arse trip from Sydney, Australia!
I'm not sure if you guys have heard of this concept. It's basically for people who are into other people - regardless of gender. It's like bisexuality, but I don't really relate to the label "bisexual"... I feel more comfortable using the term "sexual fluid".
I can honestly say that I'm...

Growing up, I was never given a chance to participate in LOTE (Languages other than English) classes in primary and secondary schools. All of the schools I attended just did not have the resources to teach me another language, which I thought was unfair. I have always wanted to learn another...
Wow, been ages since I've been here on AD! Thought it was high time I returned ;)
I had been busy over the past few months with uni, moving, etc.
Made a big move from Brisbane to Sydney, changed universities and degrees.
So...HELLO! :D
Some of you might have noticed that I had been absent from AD for a couple weeks.
That's because I was busy packing and cleaning my old place. I have officially moved.
I don't have a permanent address at the moment, however I'm going to be looking at a place I got offered sometime this week.
I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I thought I'd share this with you guys for laughs.
Anyways, I was using the NRS (National Relay Service) on MSN to call Optus re: my iPhone issues.
The Optus dude just tried to hit on the NRS relay officer chick, thinking he was...
I have a meeting scheduled for Thursday 4pm at my campus to see whether I will be allowed to partake in the Hearing Impairment strand as part of my Special Education degree.
I really want to do the HI strand next year, as it is being offered for the final time in 2009 as a part of the Special...
Hey guys.
As some of you might know that I'm considering going to CSUN in 2010 on exchange... I was wondering about California.
- Places to visit

I was also wondering about trekking to the rest of USA...
- States worth visiting
- Route 66 - worth the drive...
I just gained 1 thousand posts after 5 years on AD!
A lot of you are way ahead of me after only short time, but meh, who cares ;D
What an awesome way to start Friday! :D
I'm a student at Griffith University, and at the moment, my GPA isn't looking too pretty right now. I hope to bring it back up to at least 5.0 at the end of next year so I can be eligible to study abroad for a semester or two.
I am doing Bachelor of Education - Special Education, majoring in...
