Meeting deaf or hoh teens

Hello, my name is Alex and I'm 17 years of age living in northern California and I am hearing. I have a very close friend named Eddie who is deaf. I used to hang out with him quite a bit and one of the first things he told me was that its hard for HOH and deaf teens and kids to become friends with people that can hear. I enjoyed being with Eddie but I recently moved to northern ca and no longer see him. I enjoy being around people different than me and learning from different points of view in life(I also hangout with majority of foreign exchange students). So I was looking to possibly meet deaf teens in my area to become friends. I love to learn different aspects of life we are all unique in our own way. Eddie said I sound like I'm trying to pity deaf and hard of hearing people jokingly ,but I just enjoyed being around all of the deaf and HOH people he introduced me to.
