Teen Questioned Over Bush Threats on MySpace
Secret Service Agents Remove 14-Year-Old Girl From Class

By DON THOMPSON, AP

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Oct. 14) - Upset by the war in Iraq, Julia Wilson vented her frustrations with President Bush last spring on her Web page on MySpace.com.

She posted a picture of the president, scrawled "Kill Bush" across the top and drew a dagger stabbing his outstretched hand. She later replaced her page on the social-networking site after learning in her eighth-grade history class that such threats are a federal offense.

It was too late.

Federal authorities had found the page and placed Wilson on their checklist. They finally reached her this week in her molecular biology class.

The 14-year-old freshman was taken out of class Wednesday and questioned for about 15 minutes by two Secret Service agents. The incident has upset her parents, who said the agents should have included them when they questioned their daughter.

On Friday, the teenager said the agents' questioning led her to tears.

"I wasn't dangerous. I mean, look at what's (stenciled) on my backpack - it's a heart. I'm a very peace-loving person," said Wilson, an honor student who describes herself as politically passionate. "I'm against the war in Iraq. I'm not going to kill the president."

Her mother, Kirstie Wilson, said two agents showed up at the family's home Wednesday afternoon, questioned her and promised to return once her daughter was home from school.

After they left, Kirstie Wilson sent a text message to her daughter's cell phone, telling her to come straight home: "There are two men from the secret service that want to talk with you. Apparently you made some death threats against president bush."

"Are you serious!?!? omg. Am I in a lot of trouble?" her daughter responded.

Moments later, Kirstie Wilson received another text message from her daughter saying agents had pulled her out of class.

Julia Wilson said the agents threatened her by saying she could be sent to juvenile hall for making the threat.

"They yelled at me a lot," she said. "They were unnecessarily mean."

Spokesmen for the Secret Service in Sacramento and Washington, D.C., said they could not comment on the case.

Wilson and her parents said the agents were justified in questioning her over her MySpace.com posting. But they said they believe agents went too far by not waiting until she was out of school.

They also said the agents should have more quickly figured out they weren't dealing with a real danger. Ultimately, the agents told the teen they would delete her investigation file.

Assistant Principal Paul Belluomini said the agents gave him the impression the girl's mother knew they were planning to question her daughter at school. There is no legal requirement that parents be notified.

"This has been an ongoing problem," said Ann Brick, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union in San Francisco.

Former Govs. Pete Wilson and Gray Davis vetoed bills that would have required that parents give consent or be present when their children are questioned at school by law enforcement officers. A similar bill this year cleared the state Senate but died in the Assembly.

Julia Wilson plans to post a new MySpace.com page, this one devoted to organizing other students to protest the Iraq war.

"I decided today I think I will because it (the questioning) went too far," she said.

Goes to show the " k " word ( kill ) or the " a " word ( assassination ) are two not very funny words neither is the " b " word ( bomb ) at the airport or anywhere else wheter you are joking or just as a venting frustration statement or the real deal. The U.S. Secret Service has to check out each and every threat because all it takes is once, just one time for the death threat to become all to real like we saw with JFK being the real deal in '62-'63 I think, 1963. I do agree that the sercet service went alittle too far in their questioning, obivously they should have seen that she was nothing more than a teenager just talking and running her mouth off, nothing more. Usually teenagers say some of the wildest things and it doesn't mean anything else aside from the shock value factor. Teenagers like to shock people. I am happy the U.S. Sercet Service is doing their job but sometimes I gotta say come on, man because you know use some common sense here though .....

Jeez... they treated this young girl like that? Ugh! :fu2:

Oh my dear! What a really silly!!! She is only 14 years old... They have no right to treat teen as fully adult...

Look the world who hates and want Bush die...

What a bunch of whiny babies! The girl did wrong, and she was chastised by the Feds, boo hoo. She wasn't arrested, beaten, or expelled. Her parents didn't even have enough sense to punish her.

What can I say? There's too much Bush haters out there, with what's going on with the war in Iraq, cannot blame them nor that 14 years old teen. You should have seen my "myspace", I got some labels for Bush up there. :giggle:

I see nothing wrong that a girl rant her feeling about Iraq war... It's normal that the people express their anger feeling.. .Its about vent and rant... It doesn't mean that they want kill Bush... I don't blame her for angry because poor soliders have to die for NOTHING...

What they did to a teen is verbally abuse!!!!!

I applaud the parents... I hope the rest of America is watching this.

Jeez... they treated this young girl like that? Ugh! :fu2:

But Bush can say what he wants.... Didn't he say he was going to kill Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein....
Guess that's OK !!

My guess is that this is all legal.
They could legally have tortured her.. That was approved a while ago...!!

America agreed that this is OK !!
America voted for this !!
Why is America surprised ??

............. They have no right to treat teen as fully adult.........:
They should not have the right to treat anyone like that.

BTW, think of this....
Those Secret Service agents should have had other things to do......

Some scaring technique!!

Cloggy, yes you are right that it´s not just teens but everyone in general way...

Yes I´m agree that they should not threaten people (including kids, teens & adults) like this. They should consider Bin Laden than worry what the people says about Bush...

Bush can talk whatever he likes... *shake my head*

Yep, the girl did was wrong, no matter how angry she was, threatening the life of someone is wrong period and it should be taken serious no matter how it may look whether she has no intend on doing anything but still a threat is a threat...

But I agree with some of you here about how it was handled, there other ways they could have handle the situation better no matter how big or little the threat may be....They should have known better to deal with this in a calm manner and also they should have let their parents know before question this young girl, since she's only 14 and still a kid.. tsk tsk on them for not doing what is right on their part

Thats why I hate Secret Service agents, they sucks... I have worked behind the scene for Kerry-Edwards campaign in Minnesota, and they are being pain in ass..... I always call 'em phonics addicts or "Hooked on the Phonics freaks".... . Interpreters also hate them because they are being too nosy.... Interpreters aren't that threat.. they are being there to interpret not harm a candidate... They also never are happy people.. man.... I asked one of agent if can take pic of me with Kerry, he refused, so lucky a undercover state trooper and state senator took it for me... .

I agree with you! :) I always supports state senators only, but not for state trooper.
By the way, I don't like Secret Service agents. :iough: I never had worked for behind
the scene or something did for supporting Kerry-Edwards campaign.
The Secret Service agents make me uncomfortable, clusmy. :ugh3:

The President didn't send the agents to question the girl. I doubt that Bush was even aware of the girl's blog. I think he is too busy to surf myspace.

I read it other day and was shocked how they treat 14 yrs old girl. They didnt bring the parents to question the girl. They lied to the prinpical that the parents said okay for them to take the girl out of the school. Thats horrible.

I think its on the books that if anyone threatens the prez then they will get arrested. I think the secret service people went too far and should have waited until after school. The girl isn't going to flee and she doesn't even know theyre gonna bust her.

No, that's an incorrect statement.
Remember reasons for 911... America has given away all their human rights:
Have a look here.
Bush Given Authority To Sexually Torture American Children
The "horror of the shrieking boys" gets a rubber stamp from the boot-licking U.S. Congress & Senate as America officially becomes a dictatorship

Paul Joseph Watson/Prison Planet.com | September 29 2006

Slamming the final nail in the coffin of everything America used to stand for, the boot-licking U.S. Senate last night gave President Bush the legal authority to abduct and sexually mutilate American citizens and American children in the name of the war on terror.

There is nothing in the "detainee" legislation that protects American citizens from being kidnapped by their own government and tortured.

Yale Law Professor Bruce Ackerman states in the L.A. Times, "The compromise legislation....authorizes the president to seize American citizens as enemy combatants, even if they have never left the United States. And once thrown into military prison, they cannot expect a trial by their peers or any other of the normal protections of the Bill of Rights." Similarly, law Professor Marty Lederman explains: "this [subsection (ii) of the definition of 'unlawful enemy combatant'] means that if the Pentagon says you're an unlawful enemy combatant -- using whatever criteria they wish -- then as far as Congress, and U.S. law, is concerned, you are one, whether or not you have had any connection to 'hostilities' at all."

We have established that the bill allows the President to define American citizens as enemy combatants. Now let's take it one step further.

Before this article is dismissed as another extremist hyperbolic rant, please take a few minutes out of your day to check for yourself the claim that Bush now has not only the legal authority but the active blessings of his own advisors to torture American children.

Reba.... You are supporting this government!!
