There are some good pizza deliverymen that are honest hard working ...
I am just showing you an example here of what could happen in real life.
Door buzzes... opens door ... Pizza deliveryman says
" Hi Here is your pizza it is pepporoni, extra cheese and one liter of Pepsi. Will you take cash or check? "
You say
" Sure , come on in, set the pizza on the table... Let me get my check book. It is in the kitchen. "
The kids jump around the table as if it was a birthday party and gifts are about to be opened while the pizza deliveryman stands in the kitchen watching the kids being happy while you get the checkbook out of the kitchen drawer.
You say
" Here is a $20.00 check , please have a good night and God Bless Thank you very much, please drive safe. "
He goes
" Ahem , yes I just need your ss # you know, it is company policy on the check please ma'am ? "
( You are not required to give your ss # on a check or any checks for that matter. )
You write SS # down on your check.
He smiles with an evil smile inside while keeping a good angel boy's face saying
" Thank you and have a good night ma'am "
At this point the pizza deliveryman leaves your home to go on the next pizza call.
You gather your kids around to pass some pizza around and fill the kid's cups with some ice cold Pepsi and have a plate of pizza and Pepsi yourself.
Never even suspecting nothing or even think twice about what happened at the transcation ( money for food or things ) and what just really transpired ( happened ) here.
He drives off into the night to steal your identity. :-o
Safety tip:
I recommend you have $20.00 Cash for the pizza deliveryman. This way you protect your checkbook and your S.S. #. The checkbook is to be used for paying the rent & bills only. Nothing else.
