How are you feeling today?....

Woke up this morning to my motorcycle battery dead. Jumped it, let it run for about 20 minutes, rode it around the block and realized the odometer was flipping back and forth between trip and mileage... Odd... Shut it off and it wouldn't start again... :hmm: Thinking to myself, surely this means the battery is shot... the gauges would act weird if it was because your bike can RUN without a battery and it would make your gauges act odd, it would just not start again... :hmm: How in the heck do I get a bike that's almost brand new with a crap battery though.... That's a little concerning... Battery Price for a GSXR Hayabusa? Around $150 bucks... Yeah, that's a good time... So, I'm feeling a bit irritated, and I'm hoping it really just is the battery. Maybe it sat for a while on the dealership lot... Either way, I'm going to take it to Suzuki on Friday since it's under warranty and have it looked at. :mad2:

a wee computer on board is probably playing up, like its zapped with some sort of static shock?
friction from riding or something?? hmm you better get it checked out, im even wondering it a common fault or a one off or just a dud electrics
oh water proofing of electric may have been ignored since youre in a dry hot area of US??,....then that sloppiness becomes a problem ...:dunno::dunno:

you see, Italian bikes in NZ are notorious for crappy electrics, its not the 'bad brand of bike' its that the italians didnt have to worry about wet seasons, they never get it....so so the into the know riders/owners do it themselves then voila, a wiicked cool bike with no problems.....

Well a shot battery would have the exact same symptoms. Won't start, will start when jumped and it would make the gauges act up. I have my Stryker and my car so it's not like I have no transportation... I just really wanted to ride it today because this douche hat I work with bought a GSXR 750 today and thinks he's tough beans and keeps burning out of the parking lot cutting off people and it's REALLY peeving me and everyone off.... So we all conspired today ( Since I have never taken my Hayabusa to work ) to have me show up on it ( everyone wait in the parking lot to laugh ) and blow his arse out of the water.... so it will have to wait... Maybe I will leave work a little early tomorrow and get it to the shop tomorrow... Just so I can see the look on his stupid face on Wednesday. He's stuck in a loan on that thing for 6 years so it's not like he can just go and upgrade either... BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Terrible... I know... but stop being a douche! He's getting what he deserves... and I am going to make him eat... my..... dust.... Every spec of it.... He almost took out the front end of my car a week ago... it's time to stop... :mad2: Usually getting the pants whipped off you by a girl is enough to do that. :P So that's what happened to the last Medical Assistant we had. :P ;)

oi dont hurt yourself...stupid acts like this can end up badly....
just dont be stupid ok

Oh no, I'm no stupid about it, that's why I took all those advanced rider safety courses! :P He... is stupid about it... no helmet, no gear protection.... cutting people off.... just being a total unsafe douche because he bought an upgraded faster version. He had a Ninja 250 and now he has a GSXR 750 and thinks he's hot beans.... :squint: Every person is tired of him nearly taking them out and myself included... We've talked to him about it... yelled and complained... it doesn't do anything... it's like he's just showing off... ( I know he has the hots for a few girls and since he's only doing it in front of the girls, I know why he's doing it ) It's time to eat some dust and check your show boating... :P I'm an incredibly safe driver... and as I said, I don't speed or any of that stuff... mainly, I'm there to show him there is no way in hell he's beating a 1300 with a 750 and he needs to put it back in his pants where it belongs and stop trying to show off to someone who has a toy bigger than his... that's all. :)

Don't do anything at all just let it go for now when he lays it down it'll hurt his ego more than anything else will and won't do it anymore.

Oh he'll lay it down.... I know he will.... he almost dumped it a few days ago thinking everyone thought it was a trick! :laugh2: I saw him lose control, not quite sure how he gained it back but he was LUCKY! I saw it wobble as he turned the corner! I expected to turn the corner and find him laying there! :laugh2: Those hospital garages are slippery smooth surfaces, you can't go racing through there! Idiot... Still want to see his face.... :laugh2: He's only seen the cruiser.... He blasted by me on the Stryker the other day and I pulled up next to him and he was laughing... dude, of COURSE you blew past my Stryker, it's a friggin cruiser... Ass tart... :squint: Plus, I don't go racing around on it... :squint: I'd just like to see his little snide face pull up next to the GSXR.... Jerk wad.... can't stand kids with attitudes like that... See why I said I like cruiser riders mentality and I could never just ride a sport bike?! That... right there... that's why. :squint:

Feeling impatient. I was supposed to be seen by my neurologist for a three-month followup on the PD. Well, today was three months, and they haven't even given me an appointment date. I've got some troubling new symptoms, and I would like to be able to see the doctor. Sigh....

You may be better off in the long run seeing a non VA neurologist. Maybe your PCP could give you a referral or maybe someone you know could refer a good specialist. Hope it gets worked out soon

Have you tried calling them back or could go to the office and made an appointment in person? I had to do this with a doctor I saw b/c they their line was always busy and they never called back. I got a new DR. b/c I got fed up with having to the office to made an appointments. I am sorry to hear you have some troubling new symptoms . That has to be very worrisome .

Well dang Reba... I hope you get ahold of them!

Seems to me that the way the VA does things medically related might be different than how the civilian medical set up is... I could be wrong but boy.. today I tried to get ahold of two different doctors- one I keep getting the answering machine the other every time they asked "appointment or prescription refill?" "appointment!" they put me back on hold! Will be trying again tomorrow morning. I prefer to have the P.A. as he knows ASL (but who knows how good it is now- it's been 10 years) but right now I'd go for either before.. uh well that bit is gross so I will stop there.

The neurologist is actually a civilian staffer at MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina) who does split duty with the VA Hospital.

I can't get an appointment with my PCP either, so….

Lazy today! Yesterday was quite the day: Got to my 7:30 am hearing test and exam just in time to see one lightning strike take out the powerline and a second fry the back up lights. I have to go back next week when they have power. At least thats what I think - pitch dark except for the headlamp interrogation style lights they were wearing was a communication fiassco. Managed not to get zapped on the walk through the soggy parking lot within site of a downed line (firetruck was already there). Since plans changed I went in to work 1/2 day then I had an annual dr visit /labs which went better. I gleefully broke my fast with lots of cake and shopping. Happy birthday me!

Yes, we've called (TCS helps me with phone calls), left messages, spoke to the nurse, get promises to "check it out," etc. We can't make appointments in person. We have to call to ask for an appointment, then they send us a letter when they schedule it.

Yeah, first it was (and still is) the low BP. Now it's an ugly rash that's on my right hand (palm and back of hand), and right side of my face and neck, and it's spreading. The facial area is spreading, my eye itches, and my ear is swollen and red. I don't even want to go out in public anymore. We take our daily walk after dark now.

Reba, do any of your recent meds contain Sulfa?

I know I'm rarely here but thought I'd help. :) Any signs of fever? Otherwise it sounds like an allergic reaction . Maybe something composed of your meds or anything you have been exposed to recently?

I don't think so. I take Sinemet for Parkinson's.

Just wondered. I'm allergic to it. I think it's an antibiotic and the rash usually doesn't show up till near the end of taking it.
