Does it matter what gas station you go to? To me gas is gas no matter what brand you use its still gasoline. I always go the B.Js gas cause its a clubmember store and its cheaper than anybody else.

I think it does matter to me. Many gas corporations do test their gasoline for octane levels and purity - I prefer QuikTrip as I feel it is better for my old, creaky Toyota, which still purrs like a pussycat.

Shell. why did I pick Shell? They voted and support Kerry. So therefore I pick Shell to lend my support. Large percent of Northern Californians went to Shell for gas, oil and etc as well (I read about it in the San Francisco Chronicles newspaper).

Price itself does not matter to me. It never did.

My mom would use Super America or a gas station that is close to my home (privately business owned, used to be under Marathon/Tom Thumb), and on road, it depends if we see one. Minnesota used to have 7-11 back in 80's but not anymore, I guess Super America beat 7-11. When I visited Texas last March, I seen lots of 7-11 down there besides Shell and shramock (? if I am right?). Minnesota does have Shell, I saw one recently, I forget where. MN also have Holiday, Tom Thumb/Marathon, Phillips 76, Amoco (now BP), Rainbow Food gas station (cojoined with the grocery store), rare Wal Mart, Casey's, Sinclair, and Conco. If I think of anymore, or see one, I'll post more...

Fleet Farm too...

KwikTrip, too.

Now im boycotting 3 stations EXXON,TEAXCO and SHELL ,,
EXXON because they raise the prices after that oil spill clean up to make the customer pay for their mistake
TEXACO Because blacks complanied they wouldnt being promoted and jessie jackson pressured them to promote blacks asnd they gave in to em.
And Now SHELL because now they support liberals im not going to them ever!

Exxon-Mobil bought BP so they are like 90% of our gas stations.

Few Hess and KwikFill is the cheap "generic" brand.

It doesn't really matter for me. I just buy regular unleaded and they're all pretty much the same to me. I just go whatever is close and cheap. If the only gas station near my place is $2.15 and another one that's a few mile away is $2.14, then I still go for $2.15 cuz there's no point in wasting gas for a few miles just to save a penny. ;)

I usually gas my car up at the Pilot. But sometimes I will gas up at another place if its cheaper than Pilot, but since there is a Pilot just around the corner from work, I can gas the car up there before or after work.

Pilot gas stations are popping up like rabbits in Knoxville.

My brother says he does. He worked with cars. What he says is that the gas at Shell and BP Station helps run more effectively and is easier on the engines. It also can last a little longer. I sometimes use Kroger's gas. They are cheaper than many, but because he told me to try the other pricy ones because of some noise in the car I sensed--it might help. We'll see. I don't think he cares where the money goes to. He has other priorities right now. I don't think I care either because I have to be careful of what I read. People interpret things differently.

And theres propane engines, 100 mile electric cars, engines that use refined coal oil, even heard of experimental engines that run on spent fryer grease.

THose the things whe'll have to be looking at when the oil supply depletes. And that will be an issue the younger generation will be looking at and addressing it.

Hey guess what we even found out that one of Saturn's moons is full of hydrocarbons and that could be harvested too and converted into fuel.
They wont have to deal with the barriers the industry faces on this
planet.

Why dont we make an effort to lessen our dependence on oil and dependence on gas stations.

In the past, there are many good suggestions or inventions... One group from CIF invented a car that can go approx 300 miles per one gallon of gas. Other group invented water-based engine and it works well. Many groups did many things but oil companies refuse to allow them to bring into market thru laws & governments.

One good example: My mother's old landlord made the electricity-conserve system for his home. His electricity bill slashed down to approx $23 compare to average $110.. Electricity company found a odd electricity low usage so they sent their man to check his house and planned to call the police to arrest him or sue him for electricity conserving! He took his homemade system down and brough it up to different corporations to manufacture and all of them declined. They just don't want to conserve the energy & electricity, they plainly want us to pay more $$. That's what that landlord told us and he showed me the equipment... He don't understand why these companies refuse to consider about many resource-conserve equipments, engines, systems, etc etc.. But I believe there is a reason for these... Money.

Kyoto Treaty is another good example, America refused to sign the Kyoto Treaty. Why? They simply don't want to give up these pollution-creating/money-making industries & machines. 'E' magazine have tons of information about Kyoto Treaty and alternative engines that America corporations & governments kept refusing to sign or consider.

I tried all gas stations and discovered that
MOBIL is the BEST one (it seem last much
LONGER on my car about 50 miles more
than any other gas stations !)

Amoco was the worst one because I seem
to run OUT of gas VERY fast from that Amoco, Grrrr.

Others were average including
Shell, Texaco, Sheetz, Citgo, Crown, Hess, etc.

I'm NOT quite sure about SUNOCO yet.. :dunno:

NOTE: Thats why I GAVE UP all of these
gas stations and I finally have
my own private gas pump front
of my home, right next to my car garage....

Really Y that you squeezed 50 more miles out of Mobil gas than any other brand of gas.

Same thing happened to me but with Pilot's gas. If I buy gas at Pilot, my tank tends to go 400 miles, but on other brands, only 345 to 380 miles.

Either it gotta be the chemical composition in the gas or I can really fill the tank up to the gas fill tube that I can do at Pilot unlike other gas stations. I tend to fill the tank until it reaches the top. I just can't stand the annoying "click click" when the gas tank is filled in 1995-on cars. (Experienced that first with my old 1995 Dodge Neon)

You made me laugh so hard. I knew when I mentioned one of four gas stations that support Kerry, someone will say 'boycott' in this topic. Well, other three gas stations are rooting for Kerry... I refuse to mention about these three gas stations in this topic or any topics so that's way you will be stuck with one of them :P

Have fun, raven.

Edit: btw, my date prefers Mobil over any gas stations. Mobil is her favorite station for several years.

sablecoat, yeah i forgot about that Pilot
which I haven't even tried yet... but I will
try it sometime. I suspect that this might
depend on what kind of car for each gas,
but I never see anything like this in writing.

*Laughing*,that sure was funni DD! ;)

Actually for myself here, I never thought of what kind of gas station is better for my car, since I only go to the one that is more cheaper or if not then I go one near my home...Maybe I should check around each gas station to see which is the better gas my car can run like a pussycat LOL....

but, I don't own a car right now but Roadrunner does....I'll let him speak on this one...;)
