i think it's sad that a former first lady can have such a lack of empathy towards others who need/deserve it. :mad2: this is how Nancy Reagan shows her appreciation towards citizens who rallied around her after her husband was nearly assassinated in 1981, diagnosed with alzheimer's and later succombed to his illness? :nono:

that true! former president reagan almost died from assassination same JFK brothers and MLK im sure security need protect president all the times!

I'm so surprised at this thread and the lack of sympathy, just because she didn't show enough sympathies to others, it doesn't mean you should do the same to her, two wrongs do not make it right.

if a person (especially a first lady) cannot give sympathy to others, then they are not deserving of sympathy either.

one should treat others the way they wish to be treated.

I guess they used up all their sympathy on Ted Kennedy. :dunno:

Well, if she don't show it to others, then it obviously that she is not carin' about herself.

Love yourself first before you can show it to others. ;)

true, but that's still no excuse not to show empathy -- especially when you're first lady.

And it wasn't just the lack of empathy, but the patronizing and sobby attitude underlying it.

Yeah

You and I did show our sympathies to Ted even though we didn't like the guy.

Exactly.

Hillary Clinton, who was the co-president from 1992 to 2000, refused to visit the AIDS ward at a hospital. Where is her sympathy? Typical liberal limo woman.
