I just got back from outside. We had another fire alarm. This was the first fire alarm I experienced while I was in my dorm room. I don't know how many total fire alarms that we've had in the past, but I did see one while I was getting back from dinner off campus. I arrived with my friend and saw the alarm going off. So, I just went in the office and waited. That was on Sunday night when I got back from Christmas Break. As for tonight's fire alarm, it was caused by some idiot pulling the fire alarm. Grr!

Have any of you ever experienced fire alarms?
 
Sure, I had experiences with fire alarms at SOL dorm. The alarms often went off many times. Sometimes either I ingored them or went cruising around into basement tunnels.

Now, I am currently living in apt on SFSU campus, yes, the alarms went off many times (one was heavily pranked...the fire sprinkler was damaged, so the water fell all over the 5th floor...no one was arrested). Often, I ingored them most times. This year, I got only two fire alarms so far..thank god!!

yeah... in my high school times.. immature kids pull the fire alarm for no reason *groans* now there's tech.. if you pull the fire alarm the ink gets on ur clothes and skin.. so they know who did :D

Yeah, that's how it was every year before 2001. By 2001, they had security cameras and high security systems installed. Now, pretty much anyone who intentionally sets off the alarm... gets busted. Last year, I heard we had under 5 alarms... compared to 50 that we had a year in the past.

Last year, one guy shit in the microwave... and got busted because of this security camera. Eek!

I heard about a shit incident.. I laughed so hard!! :rofl: I am glad that RIT has improvements in security system. :rofl:
 
Oh geez, nothing news about RIT.

During my old time around 1992, Lived on 12th floor of Tower A. Survived with dumb fire alarm for 12 times in one weekend!!!! Included the idiot put a metal pan in the microwave before explosived. :madfawk:
 
Oh yes.. I was in Lincoln, NE.. For Work and we were staying at a hotel and someone burned hotdog in a pot on the stove and someone bang on my door at 3 am and I was sleeping and then I heard a loud noise woke me up and then I went to the door and saw people banging on my door.. my crew workers and I opened it up and say what's up? everyone were yelling get out get out !! I am like why what is going on? then they said there a fire in the hotel I said oh crap so I said hold on let me put my pants on but the house keeper wouldnt let me she said no dont have time... im like im in my Panties for God Sake! She said We have to go now!! So then I went outside I saw my dad and all my crew workers I was wearing a tshirt with my underwear.. and the Crew Guys were like wow Cheri is brave wearing that I said No acutally they didnt give me a chance to put my pants on... :lol: plus not only that it was raining out side at 3 am.. I was soak and cold and half naked. It was the Horrible Morning of my Life...
 
YES ive had incidences with the stupid fire alarms -- RIT days was BAD especially those living in Tower A!!! they seemed to get fire alarms 2-5 times a week!!!!! too much too much!!!!!!!!

ohh Vampy new security system qq this i gotta see!!!! is the new security system all over the dorm side of RIT now or in the most troublesome dorms only like Tower A qq sounds like its doing a MUCH better job on reducing the false fire alarms

I dunno. I was the one who found it and reported it to Campus Safety. I got in the elevator and headed down. As I approached the basement, the smell got stronger. Finally, the door opened and it reeked. I wasn't sure what it was but continued to get my drink. I couldn't stand it any more so I decided to see what someone left in the microwave. I opened the door and found two huge pile of shit sitting there cooked. I closed the door and headed back up to my room. I gave Campus Safety an anonymous call and told them to check the microwave... before hanging up on them. The next day, they had removed the microwave and replaced it with a new one. Those two guys were busted a couple days later. Heh!
 
My office has fire alarm with flashers. I remmy the older fire alarms with rotating red light and that was in middle school.

I like that better. They should do something similar to that. However, in the dorm rooms... they need something bright enough to wake the deaf students up. What sucks is that the door light and fire alarm light are 6 inches apart. When woken up with the lights flashing, it's nearly blinding that it's hard to tell which is which. Ugh!

yea!! my dorm, some gurl played with alarm made all gurls go outside and no rope cover up, only pjs on it.. so other next dorm, there guys saw all of us.. so all gurls made :grouphug: to tight so guys cant see us!! but some yea!!

Luckily, I have an office in another building so when the fire alarm goes off... I can just sneak into my office and keep warm! Hehehe!

glad the nuker got replaced with a new one and those 2 guys were busted -- gosh so gross!!!!
 
I was in cottage 4 when the alarms when off at CSDF and was minding my own business someone forgot to put the wet floor sign on the lobby floor and half of us slipped and went sliding down on the floor really made us go OMG! we went outside in wet clothes mind u it was in its early 50's at the start of the winter time i was like jeez! THAT S COLD turns out someone set the alarms off on purpose WHILE the workers were cleaning the floors jeez!
