if you were in their shoes,,, and hungry and thirsty and need something to keep you warm and all....

Would you loot? Would you go in grocery store nearby and take some can of chili and beans to feed yourself and your family and get clothes to keep warm and blanket, would you?
I think the store owners are very selfish... and only care about money and stuff.

If I was down there, I would steal a boat and paddle my way out of there.

So stop JUDGING!!!!

no i wouldnt because i have morals. its disgusting. these people are taking advantage of a tragedy, and may god forgive them for it. they arent looting because they are hungry and thirsty or because they are cold. they are looting because the opportunity is there. they know that the cops wont arrest them because they are busy helping people who need it. and they aren't stealing drinks or food or blankets, they are stealing clothing, electronic equipment and things like that. and i think u are very blind to the world and hopefully god is looking out for u.

Why are looters taking flat screen TVs, guns, and jewelry? For survival? Ha! No way!

When hurricane Hugo hit Charleston, Police Chief Reuben Greenburg announced on TV and radio that he ordered his police to shoot to kill looters. There was no jail to put them in, and the police were too busy to take care of prisoners. So he simply ordered, "shoot to kill." Guess what? We had no looters.

There was a picture of a man carrying 12 pairs of jeans. A tourist stopped him and asked him why he was doing it. He asked him if it was his own store. He replied " No! This is everyone's store!" as if he thinks that everyone had a right to pillage everything.

You call that a necessity of survival?

If I see a man carrying a loaf of bread to feed his 12 kids that would be another story but all I see is that these folks are carting away electronics, coins from casino slot machines, and so on. They were jumping up and down with glee ..you can see g r e e d in their eyes.

This is most sickening part - I cannot believe that folks would take advantage of this to think of their own selfish needs.

I have a right to judge these pathetic folks period.

These aren't needs.

They tried that with the Titanic... look what happened! ;)

I got an idea to help New Orlean's flooding situation!!!!

Build a big boat, and put all the people on that... and
ship them to Texas or somewhere.

Good idea?

Texas?? the hotels, motels and rooms all are booked and the places are so full. Why dont you bring them over to your house to feed and clean them up?
Cuz u said earlier u was a citizen of New Orleans in other forum.

FYI THEY ARE sending refugees from orleans to Texas mainly to Houston and Dallas. They are sending them to Astro stadium (houston) and Reunion Arena (Dallas) right now for the relief. OFC it not by boat but they are using BUSES and other transportations.

I dont have enough money in my bank and even if I run my own store, I would be pissed as fuck if someone break in and steal the supplies and shit to their families and my store would be left in damage and who knows if I would have to pay for it or would the town pay for it?
I'm not trying to be selfish, but all of us need money to survive and I need to survive as well so it's all a matter of "sharing" instead of "stealing" and being "selfish."

those stuff will get damage anyway by more flooding and plus insurance will pay you... might as well let them take those

the police are now looting, they got tired of trying to catch looters so they join in with looters, did yall see that on MSNBC? :Ohno:

again i have to say a god's issue.. on 10 commandment.. thou shall not steal.. looting is stealing..

if i'm hungry, need food, water, etc.. i definally will find redcross, food shelves, etc etc.. they sure will help.. or someone who's giving out their food from their homes.

I thought God would understand that it is between life and death...
what if you don't find redcross and or anything....

You obviously have no concept of what things are like. You can't just "paddle your way out of there". Also, looting is illegal. Like Tousi said, instead of coming up with these wild and off the wall ideas, why don't you really do some good, and donate to the Red Cross or the Salvation Army.

hey Oceanbreeze, are you the one in the wheelchair?
What if someone in wheelchair live alone in their house, and
didn't climb up to the attic in time before the flood go up...???

It would be so scary to not be able get out of the house...
then might have to depend on someone....

And if that person in wheelchair is on dryland, but too tired of
searching for Red Cross and all, but see grocery store,, and it is wide open and got food, I think 99% percent chance that that person in wheelchair will steal food from the grocery store.

doesn't matter.. as long its stealing. and its against the law.. there's looting.. people are stealing unessicarry items like a fancy t.v., guns, etc.etc.. not food, etc.. something that can make themself RICH.

so if all the food and water run out at the grocery stores, and you
got no cash or anything....
But then... you see a $30,000 diamond watch, and that can really
help you get out of poverty really fast,, and then catch bus
to houston and sell that expensive watch on ebay and woohoo!!!!

What will the people do once they go to Houston AstroDome, they
can't just stay there a long time, and I don't think Bush will give them any
financial assistance fund or whatever. It might take more than a year for Insurance company to pay ya for damages.
