I will be sure to remember that the next time you willingly drag anyone through the gutter based on allegations.

But, let's not kid ourselves. You have already stated you did not want Cain being president long before these allegations came out.

And since they are allegations, with no proof, and because he is in the lead in the Republican primaries, he must be guilty.

What gets me, is your comment that he should have "Just come clean in the first place by admitting it".

Maybe he is coming clean - maybe he really didn't do anything.

I had the chance to ask a local CEO this/these questions.

Q: "If someone approached you, out of the blue, and asked you to verify whether a complaint was filed against you 15 years ago, would you have the ability to readily recall the details of the complaint?"

A: "No, not readily."

Q: "What if you were notified the question would be asked 10 days prior to you being asked about it?"

A: "That really depends on if I had the time to review it. I get a lot of different tasks each and every day and I deal with numerous individuals on a weekly basis. I would have to say that unless it was something I needed to focus more attention on than normal, I would more than likely disregard it."


Q: "Would you be able to readily recall any employee disputes that you were directly involved in from 15 years ago?"


A: "Um .. no, not readily. I would probably need to review what the dispute was."

So, I will be watching for people carrying pink paper - whatever that means :roll: Maybe I should have typed up these questions in a pink format so you would think it was a moderate leftist line of questioning ..
 
Those of us who have been listening to Cain for years know what he is capable of. Local commentators reporting on this are doing slight giggles and saying ..... "Gee .... Imagine that .... Cain is still in the lead?"

However, someone mentioned "15 years later.. WHY NOW?!!?"

I'd like to tell a little story. When I was a freshman in college, I started getting to know everyone and started being part of friendship groups. This one guy (let's call him Mike) and I started hanging out quite a bit along with other people. One day, during dinner at the dining hall, we all were sitting together at a table. "Mike" sat next to me. It was very crowded. "Mike" and I were talking about muscles or something and I was like "check out my muscles" and flexed my arm. (I can be freakishly strong). He felt my arm and said "Oooh nice." Then he proceeded to grab one of my boobs right then and there and said "You have nice tits too."

I...was... shocked. It was so out of the blue and there were many people surrounding us. I had no idea what to do, I was just in state of shock. I didn't do anything. I wish I did, but really? What could I have done? I didn't know if anyone saw him doing that. I just convinced myself that it would have been pointless to do anything about it. I just never spoke to him again.

A few years later, I had a class with a guy who was part of that group (who sat with us on that day) that I used to hang out with. I hadn't really spoken to him since freshman year. We were talking and he asked what happened to "Mike". I told him that I stopped talking to him because of that day. He said "OMG!! I THOUGHT I saw him do that on that day! But I saw it sort of the corner of my eye and convinced myself that I was seeing things since it was so odd!! Wow.. what a bastard."

If "Mike" became a politician/famous or whatever now, I can see why someone in my position would want to come forward with details of that day to bring him down. Especially when I have a witness. And even MORE especially if there were other women who had also been sexually harassed by him. Even though it was more than 10 years ago.

No one is disputing they were paid off (although the correct legal term is "settlement"). The question before you is: paid off is proof of what?

Proof that he felt it better to give them money than go through the legal process. Does not imply guilt, but does not imply innocence. Since jobs are hard to find, I am considering becoming part of his campaign, then standing near him for a few minutes. Afterwards, I will ask for my "severance" pay from him.

Paid off or settlement is proof that a transaction took place in which someone was paid money in exchange for not disclosing the original complaint. Based on the history of settlements, it is reasonable to deduce that Cain did something that upset two employees, both of which received money to not talk about the incident(s).

I believe that public figures especially in a very public position as the POTUS (President of the US) should be held to a higher standard than normal. This is a position that represents the core values of the American public. Anything he (or she) does will be held against the entire country.

We have a right to demand disclosure of these types of allegations and seek the truth. At this point, pending further details, it is fair to assume that some (if not all) of what the 5 women have claimed is true (or at the very least worthy of investigation). Based on this logic, it is fair to assume that Cain has not come clean and has not given us full disclosure.

Yeah, you always seem to "find someone to ask".:laugh2: I doubt seriously that you have ready access to that number of people, much less that number of people from the higher echelons.:laugh2:
