okay i will step down then :) st louis would be best choice in my opinion for everyone (i just am more familiar with wisc and minn and thats where i offer my help with hehe)

whatever works... go for it! just let me know if theres anything i can do to help. :)

SpiceHD, you're more than welcome to help out as you've shown that you're willingly to do so...perhaps, if this could be considered helpful, perhaps you, your bf could work out some plan for ^Angel^, myself and Cheri and any others to take the trip together down to St. Louis....(let me know via pm)

As for others, like what Cheri indicated in one of her posts, suggesting an idea that for some of the members that live outside of the USA, flying in where it's less expensive and then hitching a ride with other members (that is for those who are planning on driving to the Event) to St. Louis...if so, we could use some volunteers or members willingly to pitch in to help in any way possible....

Thank you guys, I am glad that you are trying to gather the GREATEST for DD. I know she will pulls me for some nervous HELP. I see her daily!!!!

I hope you dont mind me to paste your post from other thread to here.

I know that you live in CA, (Western side). How do you travel to St. Louis? Take the plane or drive the car?

Forget to add:

How long hours from Western side (CA, LA, etc) to St. Louis when you take the car? My hubby said that it must be around 3 days to arrive St. Louis from Western side if you take the car. Right?

If you rather to take the plane to arrive St. Louis, then how much it cost from Western side to central?

Smiles -

Glad to see this thread was re-activated in my absence.

It doesn't matter to me where the AD Caucus is to be, as I stated before, I'd be glad to set it up in StL if it is eventually chosen...

Let me list what we have...

The Gateway Arch
Laclede's Landing (restaurants, shops and bars)
Six Flags Over MidAmerica
St. Louis Zoo
The Science Center
The City Museum
Old St. Charles
Harrah's, Alton Belle, Admiral, Casino Queen, Ameristar Casino
Chesterfield, Crestwood, Northwest Plaza, West County and the Galleria Malls
and many other places to go - we even have the Lewis & Clark Museum in Alton, IL.

As for crime, on paper, it looks bad, but in person...not that way. We have many toursits coming in and out and they've never been robbed, murdered or beaten up.

It's all up to you.

You want Minnesota, I'll go - but be sure you FIND someone willing to take the position as Host and willing to go through with it. We've seen so many people plan events and then quit mid-way. I wouldn't want to see that happen, and I do have a good track record of starting, planning and seeing it through to the bitter end.

Let me know, sweeties.

I just wonder:

Is those list, you suggest is enough for only weekends?

It wouldnt be all those stuff - we would have times where you could go on your own in a group to some sights in StL ... I havent figured out how it will work, but I'll get it figured out...heh heh. I already have a basic plan outlined and will submit it to Alex and the mods for their approval sometime next month.

I'm only going to meet the Aders, and have a great time! so it wouldn't matter to me what St, Louis really have there, it would be my first time and I wouldn't mind if it was just buildings LOL....

Leibling, have you check to see how much it will cost you to fly to Ohio?...we will take you there if St Louis is where the AD's party is at....

Roadrunner and I were talking about renting a van, so if anyone wants a ride, let us know ;)

Well, I rather to drive. I did posted in this topic to ask about other californians to see if they plan to drive or hop on flight but no one answers so far.

However we still plan to drive. It will takes approx 3 days for us to arrive at St. Louis.

My hubby's suspection over 3 days drive to St. Louis from Western side is right.

Sweet of you thought of me, dearest sis

I will check with Travel Agency today or tomorrow. I am trying to search Ohio airport through internet. Ohio airport is not found in most internets. I will add here when I find.

Well, it cost us alot of money to flight over USA for just "weekends" but one to 2 weeks is okay.

I found out from Internet:

Here:

Angel, this is for your information:

There’re different flight prices every month but I don’t know which months we should meet in St. Louis so I pick April and August 2005 for the example. It look like that August is an expensive season.

The prices stay the same if you want stay in USA for only weekends up to 30 days. I would not fly to USA for only weekends.

I will find out exactly over flight prices if you fix the date and month in 2006.

For your information:

I has to follow my boys's school holidays if we want to travel anywhere accord German strict law. We (parents) will be in trouble if we disobey the law.

What we had been through in 2000/2001.
We planned to take 6 weeks leave for Sinpagore and Australia and follow my boys's 2 weeks Xmas holiday so I has to write a letter to my boy's principal to get the permission to give my boys 4 weeks extra free, of course we will bring their school works with us. Their answer: 4 weeks extra is too much and agree to offer us 2 weeks extra free. They said 2 weeks school holiday must be middle between begin of 1 week and end of 1 week total to 4 weeks). We tried to convince them why we want 6 weeks but they said that if we want 6 weeks then do that in summer holiday. :ugh2: Okay, we took their offer to have 2 weeks extra free to add boys's 2 weeks school holiday. That's why I only want to let you know that we follow my boys's school holiday if we want to visit USA for vacation. I beleive that they would give my boys's 1 week free to add their 2 weeks school holiday in Easter.

I will give you the list when my boys will have school holiday in 2006.

Found out!

For your information.

Bavaria school holiday will be held in 2006:

Easter holiday (2 weeks) - 10th to 22nd April 2006
Ascension Day/Whitsuntide (2 weeks) - 6th to 17th June 2006
Summer holiday - 31st July to 11th September 2006

I'll look into this myself too, try typing in Cleveland, Ohio and see what comes up and let me know....

Ok Liebling,

This is what I found out so far, if you are planning to come from Sept to March the prices are alot cheaper then the ones in the summer,

Sept to March prices range from 500.00 to 900.00

March to August prices range from 800.00 and over

I typed in Dusseldorf, Germany and wasn't quite sure which airport you were leaving from Germany, so I made this one up myself LOL...

Also, I found out if you are only going for the weekend, it cost more, if you're going for about a week or two, it cost less, so it up to you, and you and your husband are more welcome to stay at our house, if you are planning to fly to Ohio....It's up to you really, just to let you know, you can count on us ;)

I really love tooooooooooo, dearest Angel. I´ll talk my hubby tonight or tomorrow.

Yes, it´s correct that summer season is an expensive. I only pick April and August to compare with prices. Yes, I´m agree that September and March is cheapest. We will work out when DD give us the fix date.

First of all I am waiting for DD to make the suggestion when/which date of month.... then I´ll compare everything with prices to follow the exactly date.

Those flight price stay the same up to 30 days, no matter if I stay for only weekends. I would rather to stay in USA for 2 weeks than just weekends.

No, Dusseldorf, North Germany is long way from my home (around 600 km distance between my area and Dusseldorf). If you come to stay with us then fly to Nuremberg which it´s only 45 minutes drive away from my area.

You need check Nuremberg Airport only. See screenshots where I will leave Nuremberg Airport for Ohio, Cleveland. Our flight from Nuermberg will stop at Paris and stay there for few hours break then fly again and stop at Atlanta & stay for few hours break then fly again to Cleveland.
