The Lounge thread: Whatever you feel like......... Anything goes! Part XVII

Pretty deep Dixie. Hang in there. I'm just feeling ok. Not great. Not terrible. Just ok. I decided to quit drinking last night, so I'm teetotal. Last time I only lasted 2 months and didn't really take it seriously; this time I'm done for good I think. Too many bad personal experiences; I'm a...

Same. My family are really supportive, although I know a few aunts and uncles forget at times and don't look at me when talking...

    Project on deaf comedy

I'm a big fan of comedy, but I've never heard of any deaf comedians. If you genuinely can't find anything by googling, it might be wise to reconsider the subject of your paper, because I'm sure it is a very niche area.

Best of luck, and enjoy it! I don't use BSL, but I learnt a little while in school. I really should try and find a course nearby so I can get back into it. It is surprisingly fun and doesn't have the barriers of spoken language - listening and speaking.

    Hello from the UK!

Thanks for the warm welcome :) Oh, sorry if it wasn't clear enough. I'm profoundly deaf in my left ear, and moderately deaf in my right ear. I don't use my left ear at all, but I can hear enough sound in my right. I use the sound + lipreading to make sense of what people say. Also, I can't...

    Hello from the UK!

Hello AllDeaf. I signed up here a while back because I was looking for closure; I was going through a bit of a tough time. Anyway I never actually posted because the site was being a bit slow (probably for the best I think!) but I'm back now. My name is Andrew and I've been profoundly...
