just wondering seems everyone afraid fly in small Cessna...
wish more deaf would fly....
I fly alone too often... no one wants to go..

I never rode in a small plane before but would like to someday. I've ridden in a glider that had no engine.

I guess its the way the small plane flies so not many are brave enough to ride in one.

small planes fly just like the big planes.. same forces are at work and same to fly them pitch, roll, yaw... they just don't fly as fast. Bit I think they are more fun to fly.
 
I was teenager kid. Ride plane many times when my dad was air force. He take me for ride. My dad do rent plane. Sometime company ask my dad for demo flying and parking in any airfest. I prefer jet over monoplane.

Awesome! I never come around to fly with small plane before, but I seems to be in helicopter ride more often!

no license needed by the way theres no such thing as a pilot's "license" the FAA issues "ratings" not licenses. SEL rating multi engine rating commerical pilot rating etc.

just go to your local FBO (fixed based Operator) at the airport and get with a CFI (Certfited Flight Instructor) and they'll take you up and show / teach you how to fly expect it to cost about 100 and if you use a Cessna 172 you can take 2 friends along to sit in back seats..

I'm interested to get a pilot's private license someday. But how can I communication with the tower? heh
 
My parents use to own a cessna 172 long times ago when I was young and I loves it. I always go out flying with them whenever I can. Sometimes they let me drive it while in the air but not during landing or takes off. I admit I do miss flying in the small plane. Maybe one day I may go up in it again. ;)

mx757, I wish I could fly with you but I am long long way from you. Dang!
 
I once rode on 5 seater seaplane! They are awesome! My first flight, hell worth it than being first flight on stupid commercial airlines.
 
My exh was a pilot and I rode in the back and it was fun to see the town where I have bee before and it is so amazing to look at the ground.

I have flew a small plane maybe 2 time and hilecopter once when I was very little which I dont remmy.

Its not required to commicate with the tower at non tower airports even tower controlled airport they will give you light gun signals to land or take off or hold on ground or hold and circle in air..

Pilots operating at controlled airports or in controlled airspace are required to be in radio contact with Air Traffic Control (ATC). At uncontrolled airports, however, pilots are only encouraged, but not required, to use their radio to directly advise other pilots in the area of their positions and intentions. Thus, deaf pilots are able to fly into and out of uncontrolled airports without using the radio. (Uncontrolled airports are also called nontowered airports.)

When issuing a pilot certificate to an otherwise qualified deaf person, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) imposes a limitation: Not Valid for Flights Requiring the Use of Radio.

Isn’t that a big limitation?

No. You may be surprised to learn that of more than 13,000 airports in the United States, less than 700 have control towers. All the other 12,300 airports are uncontrolled and accessible to deaf pilots.

If a deaf pilot wants to fly into a controlled airport, he or she can bring along a qualified co-pilot or flight instructor who can handle the necessary radio communications with ATC. Sometimes, special arrangements for a "no-radio arrival" (or departure), using light signals, can be made with the control tower in advance.

your only few hours flight time from me. *wink*
I don't se why they wouldn't let you take off.. its easy to teach you how... landing too.. but its a bit more challenging to teach the landing part than the take off., but not difficult to do..as for flying aircraft after its off the ground thats the easy part...

s for me I'm tried of flying solo (alone) I need a girl friend to fly with me..and i'll teach her to fly... I seem to always be taking my guy friends flying...but girls never seem to want to go...

Light Signals
Air traffic controllers have a backup system for communicating with pilots if the aircraft's or controller's radios fail or if they are deaf. Controllers use a light gun with different colors to tell pilots what to do.

n the case of a radio failure or aircraft not equipped with a radio,or deaf pilots, air traffic control may use a light gun to direct the aircraft. The light gun has a focused bright beam and is capable of emitting three different colors: red, white and green. These colors may be flashed or steady, and have different meanings to aircraft in flight or on the ground. Planes can acknowledge the instruction by wiggling their wings, moving the ailerons if on the ground, or by flashing their landing or navigation lights during hours of darkness.

In your profile here, you said you travel mostly on weekends because you hate Texas. What is the farthest state have you traveled so far from Texas?

Switzerland.... I am a aircraft mechanic by trade that's my job.. I fix aircraft for a major airline...because I work for a airline I can fly free or pretty much close to it.. which why I leave texas alot on weekends.. I'm bored here.

Use the line:
"What to go for a flight? I can teach you how to fly a plane and maybe we can join the mile high club together too!"

I know you don't need a lic to fly, but to fly alone, need to have one or working on getting it.

nah.. I don't play around while flying...but there might be a girl that wants be a member of mile high club.... I just like to fly for fun.. its very relaxing..but seems deaf won't do much other than go to their little clubs...
 
What kind of engine that drives the propeller in your censsa? I'm curious. ;)
 
OMG that kind of small plane that I rode it when I was very young, I was so SICK! lol because it turn around, and round I got.. dizzy so bad.... I didnt like it and I didnt ride ever again with very small plane.. FORGET IT. :) :giggle:
