Incoming calls on vp-100 fails to answer

Oh! I just check my DSL Modem. It already have 1720 Enable because I have D-Link Videophone before. And it enable on my DSL Modem and it connect to DI-604. Now I think I need to enable 1720 in DI-624. But One Problems how do I enable 1720 on DI-624 I need help.

Wait a minute.. Did I just read 604 and 624?? 2 routers? When I look back your past message and re-read it..

Here how my Dlink connect....

DSL--)DI-604--)DI-624--)VP-200

DSL--)DI-604--)D-LINK Videophone

Are you using 2 DSL modems or just 1? I would just use this:

DSL--)DI-604--)D-LINK Videophone

OR

DSL--)DI-624--)D-LINK Videophone

Do not chain your routers like that..

To answer to your question about port 1702 on router, you shouldnt need to do anything if the router DMZ is enabled for VP IP address, it basically forward everything to the VP.

Please try disabling your DSL firewall first, ensure DMZ is pointed to correct IP address of VP and check again.

I am using One DSL and two Router together. When I switch to Time Warner Cable Service (RoadRunner) in November I will set up like this

Cable---)VP-200
or
Cable---)DI-624---)VP-200
I think I will stick this until November then I can try it with Cable Modem. I can always call back to Friends who try call me on VP-200 I can always do that.

Right now My DSL is connect to DSL---)DI-604---)DI-624---)VP-200

* If you are using two routers, the second one needs to have DHCP turned off and a different IP from the first router.. You also need to configure it as a switch.

* Also the firewall/router built in the DSL modem needs to be off.

I have been through this before amd I know these suggestions work.

Oh, But I want Keep DI-624 running because DI-624 is Wireless Router and other one is DI-604 is just a etherent Router should I try turn off Firewall in DSL Modem see if it allow me recieve Calls on VP-200??

Hey I already contact Sorenson Service to help me with this problems. I hope they respond me soon as possible. I am try find a way to get Cable early instead wait until November

The wireless will still work. I did the same thing for a while, except the routers were both Linksys. Don't change the wireless settings when doing this, just turn off dhcp (only on the 624), and set the 624 to a different IP address than the 604. (example: 604= 192.168.0.1 set 624 to 192.168.0.200). On linksys I had to also change the gateway setting. I'm not sure what that setting is called on the 624.

I am wonder!! Can I copy all Setting from D-Link Videophone and move all Setting to VP-200 because I able recieve Calls on D-Link Videophone and work fine. But after I got VP-200 and VP-200 can't recieve any Calls.

It could be your router. My summer roommate had a similar problem until he finally got it fixed with a better router.

Yeah, That what I thought I already email to Sorenson and I am wait for there respond. Hope they send me soon as possible.

It has to be the way you are set up, running 3 "firewalls" and conflicting ip addresses.

I just dont simply see the benefit using 2 routers. If you must, try this:

Modem -> Router 1 -> Router 2 -> VP-100

1. DSL Modem: I assume this modem would give you 192.168.x.x address if I understand this would be NATed firewalled

2. Router 1: assign LAN IP as 192.168.10.1 / 255.255.255.0
Plug the modem to WAN (it would automatic obtain public IP or private IP, depending on modem setting)
Enable DHCP if you plan to plug computers to router #1

3. Router 2: assign LAN IP as 192.168.20.1 / 255.255.255.0
WAN Static IP assignment: 192.168.10.2 / 255.255.255.0 with Gateway of 192.168.10.1
Plug the router #1 Port 1 into Router #2's WAN
Enable DHCP if you plan to plug computers to router #2

4. Plug VP to Router #2 port #1. Assign VP IP as 192.168.20.25 / 255.255.255.0
Gateway of 192.158.20.1
DNS 1: 208.67.220.220
DNS 2: 208.67.222.222 (These DNS are OpenDNS.Org and more reaible than ISP DNS)
Try using public IP of auto-detect first.. if fails, try using 192.168.20.1, if failed, try 192.168.20.25.

5. if modem is firewalled, set DMZ to whatever modem assigned to Router #1

6. assign DMZ to whatever it assigned to router #2.

7. assign DMZ to VP 192.168.20.25

this *should* in theory open path from modem to VP totally opened via DMZ. Plus you have two LAN zones.

Good luck!

HMMM.... I will try that later. I still have Switch that Sorenson VRS Installer gave me. If I using Switch and don't chain Router that would work? If Switch will work can you explain to me how do it? Because I try using DSL--)Switch--)Router and it won't work.

It should be DSL -->Router --> Switch, and it should work. However, it would work with just the router too. (after adjust DSL modem of course.)

I just dont simply see the benefit using 2 routers.

I used 2 routers due to the Linksys issue DHB always talks about. I wanted wireless on my network. I turned it into a switch and used it for the wireless stuff I had. The first wired router was an older Linksys that worked with VP. I just plugged VP into old router and used wireless for everything else.

I don't get why this other guy is doing it since his 624 should work all by itself. He doesn't need the 604. He insists on it though.

On the DSL modem he needs to turn off the router function built in to his modem. I don't think he's understanding it though.

Let me explain repeat... I need have DI-604 to work because that Router has D-Link Videophone Setting. I want VP-200 set up on my DI-624 because soon or in November I won't be using DI-604 (Share Same internet) I will be using RoadRunner with my DI-624 and VP-200 but D-Link Videophone will be continue using with DI-604 on other Modem.
