Incoming calls on vp-100 fails to answer

DMZ is still required for VP unless you set up port forward to VP IP address. and yes, set VP mac address with reserved Ip address is best, that is what I have done in the past and note that I don't have any problem with that comparing to other configuration! Advantage with that configuration is that you can just unplug and plug back in whole system and it does assign right IP address itself. Works magically! UNLESS you decided to press hard reset button.

Have you try to look at your router and see if DHCP and then look at the bottom to see if VP's MAC show there like unknow; MAC# show the different. If yes.. Turn your VP automatic IP ADDRESS on then set up on router STATIC set for MAC# from VP. Be sure DMZ is disable.. if it not work try enable and 192.168.0.125, let us know if that work.:fingersx:

Oh I'm sorry .... can you explain what's router?

It is a small box between your DSL modem and VP.. However, depending on the model of DSL modem, it may have build in router..

How exactly are you wiring up your VP? Where is your VP connected to exactly?

If you do not have router, what brand and model # of your DSL modem so I can look it up for you to see if it has router built in or not.

Hmmm .... care to explain how to use "switch" or what you mean?

My VP is working except that it didn't let me know someone is calling me until I see missed calls. Also every time I make phone calls, I had to make adjustment the video display to make it better (still unable for the best display).

Is your vp set up in the DMZ, or are the proper prts forwarded? Seems that the modem / router firewall is blocking incoming calls.

That modem has built in router.. It will work. I suggest making sure the router's DMZ option is enable for VP's IP address. That will ensure the signaling from port 1720, 15328-15333 is being forwarded to your router. DMZ is just open all range of ports to one IP. If port 1720 is not being forwarded, you VP will never see that incoming video call request signal. 153xx is used to carry the video streaming traffic between both ends.

You probably will need to make sure the public IP is set to "detect the public IP" for this case.

Hello!

Let me explain to you about What I has... I have D-Link Videophone and Router DI-604 and DI-624 and SBC/Yahoo DSL all them are connect together. But I am switch to Time Warner Cable Service in November. My VP-200 working fine now. But I have trouble recieve calls. But all go straight to Missed Calls on my VP-200. It didn't ring or anything when I get a Calls all do is go straight to Missed Calls. Seem like Router Blocking it or SBC/Yahoo DSL block it. I want My VP-200 connect to my DI-624 Router.

Here how my Dlink connect....

DSL--)DI-604--)DI-624--)VP-200

DSL--)DI-604--)D-LINK Videophone

Sorenson VRS Installer told me to use Switch but it won't work. I have try that. And I enable DMZ in my DI-624 and the problems is still same! It made me angry I want to able recieve Calls.

I am switch to Cable in November and I will not using Router anymore I will be using Cable direct to VP-200 I hope that will work. But I have to wait until November. But I want to recieve Calls with Router for now. How Do I can do that? Please Help me...

I really appricate it!
Thank you!

I want to make sure you did all of these steps at Sorenson VRS as they contains instruction for Dlink 624 router.

If this doesnt work, try plugging directly to DSL modem (make sure you power cycle the modem when doing that) and set your VP to DHCP and public IP should be same as what you get assigned from DHCP. If you are able to recieve calls using DSL MODEM -> VP-100, then router or cable can be an issue in first place. If you cannot recieve call from modem to VP, then your DSL ISP is more likely be blocking the calls. If that the case, open ticket with your DSL ISP for help.

Hope this help you to get started troubleshooting.

I try do that Steps from Sorenson VRS website and it not working with Router. But I haven't try Connect VP direct to DSL Modem yet. Because I have to use Router with DSL Modem because I am connect to VP-200 and others computer on Router. Should I contact Sorenson VRS service see if they can help problems that I have now??

Before calling them - let rule out the router problem by connecting vp directly to dsl modem.. If that works.. then switch back to router and contact VRS tech support for help.

I just remember and realize that My DSL Modem has own Firewall program built-in and I tired doing Direct DSL to VP and it won't work and I switch back to Router etc... Then it worked. But still can't recieve calls with Router. When I switch to DSL Modem and VP and it made it worst and I switch back and it worked but same problems.

You should disable the firewall in that modem, its not really needed as the router acts as firewall (NAT). That probably the root cause that you are not recieving calls. Your VP must be able to accept incoming port 1720 (TCP) in order to get call setup.

I am almost certainly it is your modem firewall is the cause. If you can't turn it off, contact your DSL provider for help.
