Watch for Hurrricane Sandy on East Coast

Why go out for bottled water when we are getting 10 inches of rain today. :)

My work shut down all offices on the East Coast. In NY, the subways are not running so there is no chance of people getting to work and because of that other offices are following suit.

Storm should really be here by noon..

(twiddling my thumbs) Mmmm....mmmm...mmmm...MMMM! I'm ready (looking out the windows)....waiting....wind picked up tad little bit.

Yeah, the waiting is a pain. I should take advantage if being stuck home by doing some cleaning.

Yeah, now the wind speed picked up to 90 mph. Which means that it will spread wider and closer to our area.

Interesting. Our Philly weather guy is saying Atlantic City. Not doubting what you've heard Shel.
If it does come in at Atlantic City you & I will get a LOT of rain since we'll be southwest of the eye.
Say high & dry. (Does pot & vermouth go together? :hmm:)

Maybe because of how large the windfield is? Guess we just have to expect the worst and hope for the best. My backyard fence is starting to sway back and forth.

Stay safe yourself. :)

Has anyone heard from Jiro or Alex? Do you know any other ADers in the storm's path?

Yea, I should do some cleaning here but I am resting because I spent the last 3 days setting up for my son`s birthday bash in our backyard and then taking everything down plus pack up all the outdoor furniture and locking them up. All while I was sick with the flu. Since I am off work today, going to take advantage of being lazy but then again, the waiting game of doing nothing is starting to make me restless.

Many injuries happen after the storm passes. People get hurt trying to clear debris. They get cut by glass, pieces of metal, and chain saws, or they fall out trees or off roofs, or drown. Also, watch out for displace wildlife.

I was outside with Marty a few days before the storm started ,it was at 12AM
and I was trying to get Marty to pee before we when to bed. I happened to look down at my dog to see if was peeing and there was a coyote sniffing Marty near end!! I let a scream out and the coyote freaked out and it ran off!
Marty then started to bark at it , he was standing very still while the coyote was sniffing him. The coyote was able to sneak right up on us that freaked the crap out of me! I knew the wildlife was losing their fear of people but I never thought a coyote would get that close to me, I could had touch it head! A friend of mine wondered someone is feeding the coyote and that why is felt safe to get so close to me. I take my shepherd stick when I go out now.

"Wine improves with age. The older I get, the better I like it."

I had a lot of clients that would had disagree with.

Exactly! Great post.

I hope that ADers in northeastern and mid-Altantic states are okay.

How bad is storm?

I woke up at 5:00 AM to take Marty to the park to poop! He is very fussy about where goes and hates to poop in his own yard.
Maybe you should call and see if you can stay home ,I would hate to be driving around in a huge storm.

I ended up staying home. My mother has a lot of health issues and I didn't want to add to it by going off to work and getting her upset. I work in NH so if I tried, there's no guaranty I'd make it back as the commute is an hour each way and I drive a light weight car...so I'm told. I've no idea what to think about tomorrow.

The house next to us completely lost their gutter which was torn off by the wind. We had some benches outside that were thrown into the parking lot, fortunately the building management retrieved them and moved them out. Still seems relatively calm....not sure what it'll look like later.

In northern DE here watching the rain blow sideways & the worst isn't here yet. We're expecting hurricane strength wind gusts starting around 4 pm.

In Florida, they usually throw Hurricane party, should we the North Easter throw Hurricane party, eh?

My friend's gay neighbors hosted Hurricane Irene party during Hurricane Irene. They did host a pre Hurricane Sandy-Frankenstorm-Halloween party last friday.

I am chilling with my dog in my apt in NJ.b my lights still on so far. The parts of NYC is already flooded. Atlantic City is flooded. :eek3:

It was odd that my dog did not bark right away , I know my last dog would been pulling on his leash . It was too close a call for my dog and me! Some people on a dog forum said I should call the ACO to report this.
