I want to sneak off to the beach in Southern California (near LA) one of these weekends...which beaches are kid-friendly? Which ones are clean? Which ones are awful? I've never been to the beaches (except when I lived at one when I was a kid).

Guess what, mate? Bondi Beach in Sydney, sucks!

I've been to some beaches while growing up. When I was 8, I went to the beach in Florida. When I was 13, I went to the beach in California (I think it was Los Angeles or San Francisco). When I was 27, I went to Key West... several beaches there. :)

I went to Anastasia Beach in St. Augustine, FL I touched the beach in Cocoa Beach, FL, San Diego, CA and Hermosa Beach in California. I went to Traverse City's beach in Mich, Glen Ann's beach in Mich, Franksfort and Crystal beach in Mich.

Coronado Beach in San Diego is the best I've seen in So Cal. I know of a muscle beach area in Northern LA where its even prohibited for fat people to expose too much. It really is a town ordinance! LOL

I've been to many beaches ... Manhattan Beach (LA), Brighton Beach (NYC), and many more. So far I think The Outer Banks, NC is the best beach, because it is old fashioned beach, with full of activities. You can learn 2 hours of flying course, and you start to fly on your own with gliders, etc. You can learn how to sail, kayaking, among others. Also they got very good waves - perfect for surfing. ;)

Mission Bay Beach in San Diego is my favorite. So much to do there from shops, restaurants parks, a bay on the other side of the beach, an amusement park, and a long boardwalk that extends for miles and miles. It does get crowded and parking can be hard to find during the summer.

Long Beach, Santa Monica Beach and Malibu Beach r other great beaches to go to.

beaches in hilton head Island and sanibel Island florida beach i went there both

I am confused..is this thread supposed to be about recommending good beaches in Southern California for Deafbajagal?

I agree Long beach is good, I also like Huntington beach and Capistrano Beach, and especially that son of a beach haha:D

Corona Del Mar is an awesome beach love it there.
