I very rarely go into my personal life on here, but this really makes me angry. You see, I am in a wheelchair. I was born with a hole in my spine, and I had to have surgery to close the defect. But, it didn't stop there. I also had surgery to keep pressure off my brain, so that damage wouldn't occur.

By the time I was three, I had 11 brain surgeries. Yes, you saw right. Eleven. I also have had other surgeries. I've had a total of 20+. I also nearly died a few times from infections. I had meningitis when I was a baby, and nearly died from that. Plus, a few other times, too. I think, last count, I nearly died a total of four times. Life hasn't be easy for me, Ms P. Not at all. Thankfully, I've stablized now, and life goes on as is. But, I live with an uncertainty most people have no concept of. I live with chronic illness. Is it going to kill me tomorrow? No. Next week? No. Next year? Probably not. But, one day, I'm going to come down with an infection that I'm not gonna be able to fight, and it's gonna kill me, or it'll be my kidneys. Something.

I live with this, Ms P. But, you know what? It is my life. I can't change it. I can't exchange my life for somebody else's. I suppose I could end my life, but I'm not that kind of person. I prefer to take the circumstances I was dealt with and do something with it.

The bottom line: You make your life what it is. You can sit, and bitch and complain, or you can accept what is, and move on. Many of us have done that, Ms P. Why can't you?

Go in there and look at this wonderful girl who have a wonderful boyfriend. So stop hiding yourself. Get out there and enjoy the life and smell the rose. Geez.

I dont care what you look like. There is lot of ppl have this problem but they accept it and move on with thier lives.

There is lot of ppl who were born with many different kinds of disfigure or disabilities or just to be normal. But did you ask to be born this way. Of coure, no but you have to accept for what you are and for who you are. I didn't ask to be born deaf or have heart condition but I have to accept it and face the life that I can cherished.

Even color ppl was born with it and they didnt asked for it. See that what make the life so interesting and learning. I enjoyed life and learn alot from it.

Thank you, Magatsu. I'm really wasn't after attention. In fact, I'm uncomfortable with it, but she made me angry with her comment that she'd rather be in a wheelchair than have her face. I don't consider being in this chair to be all that bad. Granted, there are things that I'd rather being doing, but, what's the point of wishing for something that can't be? It just does no good. So, I prefer to accept my circumstance and do the best I can with what I have.

I will say this. I painted a rather bleak picture of my health status in my other post. My health isn't that precarious. I'm actually doing very well. I'm healthy considering the things that I could be facing, but I also know reality. Reality says that, one day, something is going to happen. I'll get a bedsore (like what happen to Pinkster's Aunt), or my kidneys could fail.

I was trying to impress upon her that she should thank her lucky stars that disfigurement is all that she faces. She could face staring death in the face like I have.

Please show some respect to people here, and tone down the negitivity, ok? Nobody cares about your TCS...a lot of people have conditions, but most people don't want to talk about them a lot...if you want people to like you, post in a positive manner and post things that doesn't involve people's privacy....and life would be much better for you if you get a job....then you can talk about your job, what you do....makes people want to be more interested in what you do.
I hope everyone got your attention, miss P. You have lost a lot of respect and it is up to you to bring it back -- wanting to be a lesbian out of despiration or wanting to commit suicide is not the answer...it makes you seem silly.

I already know that you weren't after attention. It was quite courageous thing for you to do. I mean talk about it in the public.

Some people (example Miss P and ravensteve) really need to understand that there are other people who struggles with their problems, which rarely complain about it. Like what you said in your previous comment, most of us prefer to take the circumstances we were dealt with and do something with it than sitting on the chair and whine about it... it will not change anything.

I have to be honest with you, what you said in your previous posts hitted me hard. It almost got tears in my eyes.. yeah, I am that sensitive at this moment heh.

I truly didn't want to draw attention to myself like this. Doesn't mean that I don't appreciate what you've said. I do, but I'm nobody's heroine. It's just the card I was dealt, and I played the hand.

Her comment sparked something in me. Here she is dealing TCS, and yes, it's a trying condition to deal with, but it's not life threatening. Spina bifida can be life threatening, so I wanted to point out to her to look at what she has, and be thankful that it's not something worse. Because, it could be. There's always someone worse off .
