MSSD: Model Secondary School for the Deaf

NJSD: New Jersey School for the Deaf

I'm biased so I say NJSD... even though I've never been there

i'm biased cuz I'm a grad of MSSD. NJSD may have the mob connection but we've got the connection to the congress and even the white house. :D
 
There are always academic students at Schools for the Deaf, but I do know that MSSD is supposed to be one of the best. You can even take French or Spanish there! They also offer an "independant living" apartment style set up!
If you're looking more towards just high school diploma and then work, NJSD might be good. It's weird......I know that NJ has a lot of Dhh elementary ed programs and a lot of regional programs....but you don't really hear abt NJSD.
Alex might be able to help you. He is an alum of NJSD.

With m,ob connections you get to know rackets, shake downs, graft, protection business., garbage business, concrete business and getting profits from the unions and casino's. Much more useful than classroom education

So that mean MSSD is better education than NJSD right?
 
Unfortunately, I'm a MKSD/NJSD graduate and I would have to say that one will get better education at MSSD.
 
skyboss, do you know of any students who already attend MKSD? Why not ask around?
I know that MSSD is supposed to be AWESOME for even hoh kids!
 
Ihave many many friends who are graduates from MSSD and one or two who are graduates from MKSD and they are all college graduates working at professional level jobs. I would say both schools did a great job.

Most Deaf Schools have fluent ASL instructors. Are you voice off Deaf or more hoh style deaf?
 
Each school and its culture is different. The criteria of what makes the best education really depends on what that individual student needs.
 
Perhaps, you could stop by and ask some of their children's parents about their school. Like Pros and Cons.

I probably think that you shouldn't bring up to tell them about sending your kid to their school yet until you confirm it. I'm sure that you will find a way to contact their parents - perhaps at a game day or opening house, etc.

I wouldn't want to say BS to listen the teachers and staff at school. You could compare the info between the teachers and the parents.
