When you were a new member of AD....

I do not remember!

Lurked here when I joined, didn't post much then I became addict because it had alot info, cool threads and such. Again my post went down slowly for personal reason and business. I came back strong again and became The Chosen One. I am also well known Puerto Rican.

When I join I didn't have that much to say I would post here and there and read a lot of threads. I think I started posting more when I change my user name to Pepsiwoman, but I have to check the dates of all post/threads made by me to be sure :hmm:

When I was "new" on this forum, I would read a lot of threads but I'd post in some few selective threads that were at my interest. As time progressed, I basically warmed up and started to post more on various threads in different sections on this forum. :)

I signed up and totally forgot about it til one year later after , I joined started to post away :)

I love to chat with AD friends; those I've made since joining, but have been almost entirely an unexclusive member since joining near 3 years ago. But I visit a lot and will browse. often before I open my mouth. I will mostly post when a topic is up my ally or something I can elaborate more onto.

I used to be on alldeaf.com when I first came to AD I guess I was addicted to alldeaf.com but now I'm on facebook more often but eh... oh well life goes on ;)

I came across AD when I googled 'Deaf'. I lost my bookmark when I had to reload the system for some reason. It was about six months later when Alex send me an email reminding me about the AD. I went back to AD and remembered that this is the one I want to read those posts. I post now and then.

When I joined in 2006, I had been lurking a bit beforehand. I knew the characters a bit, and knew who was easy going and who to avoid. I posted mostly jokes and a few other things, then faded out until a few months ago. The cast has changed since 2006, but there are still plenty of the old crew, plus lots of new faces. It grows on me. Most of the other sites have had hot and cold months, but AD has always been hot. I like it here because I am not a moderator, so I can roll up my sleeves a bit more. Please don't ban me! :giggle:

I was searching for deaf and hard of hearing communities as I was looking to see if there were any local deaf socials in my area as I was struggling with my hearing or the lack thereof. It had finally come to a head to where I had to decide if I was going to be ashamed of it or if I were going to embrace. I'm glad I found AD.com because here I found that it's OK to embrace deafness. Of course the first few months I mostly lurked and hid my browsing on here from my parents as they were afraid that I would 'regress'. They still oppose sign language, but now I don't care. I posted a few times then I quit for a year, then I came back. Now I feel like I have people I can talk to that understands my frustrations and that eases my tensions.

Now whenever I interview for a job - instead of hiding my disability and the boss finds out later - I just lay it out up front. Ever since I've not been turned down nor fired from any position.

I'm very proud to say that I am a part of the All Deaf community. This place is more than just hot, it's flaming and I hope it stays that way.
