Long darkness. The sun goes down at around 4:20 or so pm and sun rises at 7:55 AM in the middle of the winter.

Thats true, but on yearly average, for some strange reason... you get 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night NO MATTER where you are!

I see, weird. The sunlight is shorter here than in California...Alaska is even MUCH shorter....how depressing.
