Our town made the largest sweet iced tea on record yesterday.

SUMMERVILLE — It was a really sweet day in Flowertown on Friday as the town reclaimed its place in the record books.

Town officials spent all day brewing a giant mason jar of sweet tea to reclaim the Guinness World Records’ Largest Ice Tea title it held for a few short months last year. The event was held in observance of National Tea Day.

Last year, in its inaugural effort, the town snatched the record from Chick-fil-A when it filled a 10-foot-tall mason jar with 1,425 gallons of ice-cold sweet tea.tea.jpg
But the record only stood for a few months. In October, Lipton swiped the title by filling a huge pitcher with 2,204 gallons of its beverage during the Be More Tea music festival at North Charleston’s Riverfront Park.

On Friday, the town that claims to be the birthplace of sweet tea made another attempt at the record....

The largest serving of mashed potatoes is 1,197.94 kg (2,641 lbs) and was achieved by Jason Lin, Colin Stockdale, Tyler Hubeny and Evan Armstrong (all USA) in East Binghamton, New York, USA on 20 June 2015. I live in Binghamton.

My city has one of oldest high school in the country it was started 1831. I knew a woman and she told me her family came over in the Mayflower and one of her uncle helped build the school . We had a lot of families that lived in the same house for generations in Newburyport, Ma.

Newburyport High School is #29 on that list. interestingly KY School for the Deaf came in at #21. VSDB at Staunton comes in lower.

To go along with Reba's largest iced tea, NC has this to offer--
The Immaculate Baking Company in Flat Rock, North Carolina, made the world's largest cookie in 2003 - it was 101 feet in diameter and weighed 40,000 pounds.

More strange world records for both NC and SC here--
