"We are just a bunch of atoms"

that would relate to the Bicarmiral mind...where half the brain is operated/controlled by God the other half is 'us' listening to god, obeying God's orders...upon this theory it was the gods (aliens) teaching the neatherals how to build pyramids, in the Aztecs and the South Poles (it was tropical way wayWAy back then)....
I don't believe people in the past needed any "alien" assistance. Ancient people were at least as intelligent, if not more intelligent, than the people of today. That is, they had higher native IQ's. Take away the technology of today, and ancient man would give modern man a good run for the money.

Interesting. This is specifically discussed in the Bible? Can you point me to the passages? TIA.
Since God spoke before man was created, obviously He had a language before man could have created one.

The Bible description of the events of the tower of Babel explains God's creation of additional languages.

Maybe I should pm you the references, in order to protect the thread?

I believe, as recorded in the book of Genesis, God spoke the universe into existence. The powerful voice of God would certainly be enough to start all those atoms vibrating into action!

The conclusion of this lecture is that the universe has not existed forever. Rather, the universe, and time itself, had a beginning in the Big Bang, about 15 billion years ago. The beginning of real time, would have been a singularity, at which the laws of physics would have broken down. Nevertheless, the way the universe began would have been determined by the laws of physics, if the universe satisfied the no boundary condition. This says that in the imaginary time direction, space-time is finite in extent, but doesn't have any boundary or edge. The predictions of the no boundary proposal seem to agree with observation. The no boundary hypothesis also predicts that the universe will eventually collapse again. However, the contracting phase, will not have the opposite arrow of time, to the expanding phase. So we will keep on getting older, and we won't return to our youth. Because time is not going to go backwards, I think I better stop now.

The Beginning of Time

Falls in line with Genesis and Revelations if you ask me. There is no boundary to the universe because God has no boundary. When the universe re-collapses God will have made the laws of physics in such that the conditions will be favorable for the destruction of the Earth (or universe as we know it). This will not happen for another 20 billion years by Hawkings prediction.

Yes, please. I'm interested in this idea of a first language.

i stll believe in the bicarmrial mind and its evolution of spirituality/religion/ which is a basis of "society'/tribes..then hunting/gathering societies...etc and then intelligence
i do not believe the earliest humans were more or same intelligence...it is illogical..sorry my but...lol

Paleoarcheology suggests you're wrong.

i still dont care, its a 'school' that got 'endorsed' which by it doesnt mean its absolutely absolutely correct...in other words, its 'society's conformity or 'standard school of thoughts'...

Society conformity? Standard school of thoughts?

You do realize majority of the world view neolithic and paleolithic people as imbeciles when the sciences is slowly showing that current school of thought is wrong.

It's ironic how you try to stay on the fringes, without realizing you're the conforming masses.

Our view of the prehistoric people's intelligence is heading in the same direction as how the whole "dinosaurs are warmblooded" theory colourized the ancient creatures as we discover more tools, more evidences of ancient religions, more forms of arts and music as well as more clues to early languages.

they werent imbeciles, just i dont believe for a minute that we learnt building fantastic pyramids all on our own...like if that was on a woman, this pic would be considered pornographic or suggestive of so, like risk a ban... or warning to replace it. but for girls they seem to be allowed to 'explore', but differently for men to show a pic peeps would think he's a bad perv, while a girl do, would be seen as a 'new sexy cool' its weird...

I believe ancient people were just as intelligent as we are now, the only difference is that they didn't have the technology that we do.

How did the Vikings conquer so much including areas that required many days at sea to reach? They learned to navigate by using the stars. I have read where they even had a rudimentary compass that was fairly accurate. Ancient societies also had a basic understanding of Earth's place in the universe. They knew that the Earth rotated thus causing night and day. They also understood that it revolved around the sun causing the seasons. They may not have understood it fully as we do today but they had a basic knowledge of it.

The Egyptians had a clear understanding of astrology to plan building sites for their pyramids even if it was closely tied to ceremonies dedicating the pyramid to the afterworld and all it's gods.

Ancient people began understanding agriculture and agriculture is the foundation for modern society. Without it we would still be hunting for our food and our population growth would be severely limited. Agriculture allowed people to settle in one place and have a supply of food when meat became scarce. This caused many nomadic communities to no longer move around. This also allowed for further developments in technology.

If they weren't more intelligent then at least they were more inventive.
