The forum posts were hung by the computer with care,
In hopes that St. LinuxGold soon would be there.
^Angel^ and Roadrunner were nestled all snug in their bed,
While visions of JavaPride and MizzDeaf danced in their heads.
E in her kerchief and Alex in his cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter’s nap.
When out on the law there arose such a flashing of the light,
Alex sprang from his bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the computer he flew like a flash,
Turned on the computer, typed in AllDeaf.
And what to his wondering eyes should appear,
But a minature cursor and eight tiny Aders.
With a little lean driver, so hunched over and typing away like mad,
That Alex knew right away it must be St. LinuxGold.
More rapid than threads they came,
And he signed, and signed by name:
“Now RebelGirl, now GalaxyAngelz, now AJ, now Liebling)),
On Oakley_04, on Cheri, on TweetyBird and apathrev!
To the face of the monitor, to the outside,
Click away, click away, click away all.
So into the room they flew,
With the cursor full of goodies, and St. LinuxGold too.
And then in a twinkling, Alex saw in the room,
All the flashing of these running shoes,
All bundled up in bytes from his head to his foot,
His clothes were all shiny with microchips.
Alex moved his head and was turning around in his chair,
When into the room St. LinuxGold flew in, on Pomeranian’s Energizer Bunny,
A bag full of goodies he had in his hands,
And he looked like a thief just opening his bag.
His eyes, how they squinted,
His body, how lean,
His cheeks were pale
His nose like a sharp point,
His thine mouth was drawn down in a frown,
The stubble on his chin was as dark as the night.
The butt of a cigarette he held tight in his teeth,
The smoke went around his head like a hood.
Oh, he was so dark and waiflike , a right old computer programmer,
And Alex shivered when he saw him,
In spite of himself.
He had a lean face, and a lean belly,
That drew in when he breathed, like a skinny cat,
With a wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Alex knew all the while he had nothing to dread.
St. LinuxGold spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
He filled all the threads with goodies for all members;
then turned with a jerk
And laying a finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, through the monitor he flew.
He sprang to his cursor, to his team signed to his team,
And away they all ran off.
But Alex saw him sign as he flew deeper into the monitor,
"Merry Christmas to AllDeaf, and to all good night."
