I went to San Francisco General Hospital at midnight because coughing was so persistent. I did not feel well. Also, I had a high blood pressure due to illness. I had waited for 6 hours until I finally admitted and diagnosed by an awkward Asian doctor in training. RME. All I wanted to have an interpreter present because it was easier for me to sign than write pad.

Before admitting, I requested a terp, but it seemed that they umm, how can I put, ignored my request. Finally, I told the doctor that I requested a terp, she called BACA to get one. A male terp arrived and interpreted for me while the doctors asked me some questions regarding to my illness and back/hip hurt.

I finally released from SFGH at 9:30 a.m. I went to Albertsons to get rx pills (I was in no mood to wait a line for pharmacy at SFGH). I came back home at 11 a.m.

How was your day??? BLAH :madfawk: at slow service and lack of accommodations at SFGH. Monroe Community Hospital in Rochester, NY is the da best!! That hospital has own interpreter services ready and it goes smooth. Damn SF people!!!

damn that totally sucks Oddball -- but at least u did go to get urself checked out and get the appropriate Rx meds  some ER's across the USA has lousy services

seesh.. i have similarity problem like yours back then...

i remmy i had to go to hosiptal in twin cities. i had to sit in waiting room for my next turn to go in.. it takes me 4 hours to wait! holy crap! finally i got in.. and interpreter is in the room with doctor.. and finally the doctor do something.. i explain what's wrong then they send me back to waiting room and wait for another 2 hours finally another doctor called me go in.. they check up.. then wait for another 1 hour for results then again they called.. and explain whats wrong.. why does it takes 7 hours to do all those crap?

I agree with you. I was in the hospital with a friend of mine last September. Something happened and she was taken to the hospital. Luckily, they called an interpreter and he arrived within 15 minutes after she arrived. He was a real nice guy and fun to talk to while the doctor wasn't around.

Sometimes I avoid to go hosptial... preferable dependable on walk in clinic and more faster services than hospital.. If seriouis.. oh yeah.. oh well have to directly to Hospital...
Depends on how long takes you waiting..
Hospital policy..
1..."Seriouis highest prior paitent quick get in"
2..."Seriouis deep cut prior patient quick get in"
3..."Not seriouis and have to waiting room until doctor calls your name"

I refuse let my kids or hubby ride on Alumance due fee rip off for not seriouis and take our car to go hosp.. IF seriouis.. oh well have to take Alumance anyway..

Walk in clinic after 430pm to 9pm only After hours.. Must go hosp only!

I agree, but I was too ill. I can't stand waiting for long hours until doctor called me. IT sucks royally.

?????

What about Strong Memorial? I had to stay there for 3 days when I was diagoned with Pancerasitis last Sept. The wait in ER sucks big time but after when I was admitted, things went well and they were very patient and cooperative with me and made sure there were interperter on duty.

At Strong Memorial? I think Shibby saw you guys in ER when I was in the triangle.

last monday i was taken to the er, i popped my jaw and the pain didn t show up til after hours it was excruiting, but i was brought in, got blood drawn, the pain was in my head, and constantly putting me in a severe pain. i forced my mom to drive thru the red lights and she did for my sake cuz i was pounding on things cuz the pain kept on hitting my eye as well it was so bad, they got me in and right away was seen by the dr. but the results were 3 hrs of waiting and was put on a mini iv push meds with demerol and etc, IM ok now have medication turns out when i popped my jaw my accident in a yawning mode, i hit a bad nerve and it really made me go beyond controling my pain to a place where i was crying and screaming i couldn t walk straight and was in bed for 3 days im ok now :)

ER did not seem to be that busy all the time yet, it takes a very long time to get treated. Their job is to keep communications open between the people in the waiting room (patients, family members and others) and in the back of the ER. Iv'e been in The emergency room a lots of times and It always slow. Sometimes that the only place I could go when the Clinic's are closed on certain time. I tried to avoid going to emergency rooms at the Hospital so I could be able to go to my children Clinic office which are faster service and plus they know almost all about your children after the day they were born

Yes, I agree Oddball....

I only go to ER if I am ill or if it's a life threaten or if my children are hurt....

I remerber ALL the waiting and waiting to see a doctor in an ER.... :dizzy: ...

Strange about me since i grow up. I always get there fast and call the doctor quick!!! I did not get to wait for many hours for doctor... *smh* My cousin has face cut and wait for doctor for many hours, but me get the doctor quick when i have cut.... i not know why other people wait longer and me get quick... Mmmm

one day, my ex gf went to ER for asthma but we been waited longer and make me nervous stay there for her!!! other time, i had my ankle broke and get dr quick and saw the man has blood badly behind me, he have to wait many hours.

yes true! i think it is fast for me because of insurance?? what kind of insurance that drs maybe interests in. i :dunno:, just guess.

Quite good quesiton.. Why don't you check your insurance and to see what kind r u using benfits of insurance. What makes Dr interested and made quick help you faster than other patients.

I think Dr really quite after $$$ than other patients who doesn't really good insurance or doesn't have insurance.. Dr prefer stallllllllllll and wants more $$$ from them.. Eating up.. (my opition) I think it's WRONG! Be equal for everyones.

I have no problem with my doctor or my children dr. or our clinic its the Hospital ER It doesn't matter what kind of insurance you have to go in the Hospital ER room cuz I have seen all of them waiting long too not just us....When U go in the back room after they called u u can see them standing around talking, gossip or eating. Its like is that professional? Not to me it isn't. They are pretty Slow.. No matter where I go at any Hospital or Er room Near my area of home.. It is always SLOW.

Not me, I was stuck in the triangle *where they treat patients in ER* with damn IVs in me! Shibby had to go with our friend to move the cars and he said he saw some deaf pplz there so I thought maybe it was you now. Heh.

My big sister fired several nurses for being rude to hearing impaired in Austin, TX. :)

Of course, have I mention, my sister is Nurse Mangaer for whole department? ;)

My experience of services at hospitals isn't all that much because I don't see the family doctor AT the hospital, but at his local surgery office. If a cat scan is required, I'm sent over to a different site elsewhere -- if requiring surgery/operation and medical attention...THEN that's when I go to a hospital which is very rare, fortunately, ha.

The waiting period prior to a doctor appointment usually isn't that bad. Minimum waiting time was like 5 minutes and maximum was 35 minutes (that was when doctor was backlogged).
