On June 26, 1963, just after a visit on foot to Checkpoint Charlie, the most famous phrase was "Ich Bin Ein Berliner", as he attempted to say "I am a Berliner". But the way he said it translated "I am a Cologne beer". I dare say that his speech writer got a fair drubbing over that one!
