pop vs soda

I used to called "coke". Then I realize I should use "soda", so I say that as it sound much formal to me.

what about you?

It depends on where I am and who I'm talking to.

Some people I know use "soda" and some use "pop". If I know they tend to use "pop", then I'll say that instead.

In most cases, I use "soda".

I have not use said soda so far cuz I use said pop which dunno why I said . But I seeing ppl said soda then I will know it is pop. but in here never see to said soda mostly said pop.

Ive always said soda.

if I say "coke", I'd be asking for "Coke"

I use soda. But my state is a home to Pepsi so some people use that word.

It really depends on people, and even map show my state as mixed on which words to use.

"Drink" is another word used, but of course it depends on people and location because it can also mean "beer."

If someone offered me "coke" I would decline because I will think it mean soda named "Coke" which I don't want. I take thing literally sometimes.

When I sign..it doesnt matter if it is pop or soda cuz the sign for it is the same.

When I talk with hearing people, I probably would say "pop"

One time, I paged my friend who was running to the store asking her if she can grab me some pop. I typed wrong..I typed "Can u get me some poop?"

She replied saying "WTF?" and I was like "huh? what? I am sorry for asking u to get me something if it bothers u. Geez!" She paged back said "I am not getting poop for u my dear sweetie!" Then that was when I realized my typo..that was too funny!

I'm a Connecticut Yankee; I say "soda."

Hubby is from Michigan; his family all say "pop."

Many people here in the SC Lowcountry say "Coke-Cola" (NOT Coca Cola), but more of them drink Mountain Dew, so they ask for "Dew". They put salted peanuts in their drinks.
