I was actually involved in academic research on the Quran and Social Justice. Not light reading to be sure! But then, neither is the Bible, unless one simply looks at the words there in a very superficial and literal manner!

I am not very impressed by the many sharia laws, created by scholars of the quaran. I find them very cultural. But you perhaps studied something else? The Zakat, one of the five pillars of Islam is pretty modern in it's thinking to me, compared to how the rest of the world looked like in the 5th century.

I have already responed. You are asking like a faultfinder. If you want to prove yourself as something more than a faultfinder, give me your definition of normal, or two or three examples, and I will honestly try to communicate to you what I mean with normal. If the term "normal" don't make sense to you at all, then I am not the proper person to help you.

It's the same idea of saying "normal" Christians. Or "normal" Buddhists. Or "normal" Hinduists. Or "normal" Catholics. Exactly what does that mean? To me, it doesn't make any sense to say that. Are we to say that they are the non-violent types? What? Not as orthodox? Less religious, less fervant? What?

Does the term "a normal human being" make sense to you?

Well, that includes extremists as well. In fact, it could describe those sleeper cells, too.

I see. And how did you come up with that number?

How does normal Muslims include extremists?

flip is referred as good Muslims, not involve or support terrorists or extremists.

Exactly. Extremist Christians like Fred Phelps and his congregation are the minority. Extremist Muslim terrorist groups are the minority. It's absurd to generalize either extremist group to the whole religion they claim to identify with.

Pay close attention. To the best of anyone's knowledge, has Fred Phelps preached and/or encourage any other person to travel anywhere and destory and/or kill people? Even the Okla. City bombing was not the result of an "extremist christian." Even the plane crash in Austin, Tx. was not the result of an "extremist christian".
On the other hand, there is plenty of proff that Muslim leaders preach and infulliance and encourage their followers to kill and destory, not only in America but world wide.

Could it be for standing up for freedom, human rights, tolerance, and the love of humanity?

Does prevent Mosque from near ground zero of 9/11 is take freedom away?

Ahhh, yes. They are culturally bound. But can't the same be said for any social justice system?

It was actually very eye opening to have people of several different religious persuasion, including a Muslim, to offer interpretation as well as comparison to the books of other religions. So many similarities, whether the culture subscribes to Sharia law or not.

let me help you there.

"normal" Muslim. "normal" Christian. "normal" Jewish. "normal" Buddhist. "normal" human beings. they all share same American values - freedom, human rights, tolerance, and the love of humanity.

How about "a normal world"...?

The word "normal" can be rather subjective. What's "normal" to you may not be so for others. I'd ask for clarification if somebody said "normal Christians" on what it was meant by that since it is subjective.

Exactly. Look in the mirror and apply to self.

"I am driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, 'George go and fight these terrorists in Afghanistan'. And I did. And then God would tell me 'George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq'. And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, 'Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East'. And, by God, I'm gonna do it."
George W. Bush

Normal is just same as "good".
