To go with the new fingernails:
OMG!! my cat did that to me for really real the other night wait I posted a pic on fb I'll put it on here. Walking through the living room in the dark she pounced on me then slid down my leg. I can't wait to get her declawed next wednesday. It was supposed to get done the begining of this month but the think the vet was just trying to get more money out of me. I'd dropped her off in the am right, then they text me a little while later they want to run some tests on her blood and do a bile test??? Some enzyme was high or low I don't remember and they wanted to make sure those levels were normal for her before they did surgery (she was getting spaded and declawed) oh and they wanted her on meds, and that the bill for all that would be $109. Okay fine so I go get her and her meds, which is a pill, they want me to try to get her take, and she has to take it on an empty stomach. Are you for real. Then they text me the next day, oh she's fine they can do the surgery tommorw if I want. Well, no I just spent the money for the declawing on all your stupid tests now we have to wait another month. So I ask about the meds, does she still need them, doc says she'd like her to take them but if it's too hard don't worry about it. I want to punch them all in the throat. But anyway this is what she did to me a couple days ago, used my leg like a fire pole.

I'm so sorry she did that to your leg.
But please, please, please don't declaw. It's inhumane. I hate to use this as a sounding board against declawing, but it really is inhumane. They take the claws out at the joints and cut each paw open to get there. Imagine the same being done to each of your fingers and toes.
Keeping your cat's claws trimmed helps. Training helps. Even soft-claw covers help. (I can find you a link if you want.)

ewwwww My biggest problem is my leather sofa, my $1500 leather sofa, that she is ruining. Even clipping her claws hasn't been enough to save it.
Her paws will heal, my sofa won't.

Ouchie. I am so sorry about your leg. Off the point, do you have any toys for cat in your home? I am under the impression that she likes to get your attention because she wants to play but a cats do wild things to do such like this. =X

Oh yeah she has toys
But she does like to practice pouncing on stuff, she's still a kitten, I think about 7 months old now maybe. I was getting ready for bed, the house was all dark, I was the only thing moving and she jumped out at me and on me, all like "aha!!! I got you!!" lol. No really she likes to ambush things, especially my hair elastics. I take them out and leave them everywhere, on the dining room table, the coffee table etc, she finds them and bats them around. Hides and pounces on them. She doesn't usually pounce on me. She does decide it's "play time" right when I go to bed though.
