My husband just showed me the website about "OGO" (check it out at http://www.attwireless.com/ogo/index.html ). It's a device you can take everywhere and allows you to IM and chat with anyone who have AOL, MSN and Yahoo messagers. Somewhat similiar to Sidekick, only smaller,,,and besides, on "OGO" you can include all AOL, MSN and Yahoo messagers at once, too. And it's only $100.00 and monthly payments are cheaper, too.

I was wondering, have anyone seen this before? And do anyone own "OGO" device? If so, is it any good, and is it suitable for the Deaf? Just curious!

I think I might get one

It's $100 (after rebate) and it has better coverage area than sidekick or blackberry or Talkabout pagers. (better covreage for where I live anyway) I think I might just get one , but be sure to read the fine print.

I've been thinking about getting a phone just for text messaging, but this is about the same price and does more . and NO anual contract!

Mail-In Rebate: Must be active for 30 days and when rebate is processed. Allow 8-10 weeks for the rebate check. See rebate form for full details. Mail-in rebates not available in CT.

That device has no wireless world wide web....I would go for it IF it had that....nice device though....dunno about ATT's support though.

Hmm... sounds interesting. I'd still rather stick with something like a Nokia. :thumb:

My parent say me it around 25.00 a every month. Because 3.00 for phone a month. And also 19.95 so far. I can't remember that before. It was a good way for their OGO.

Do you know when it will start open release for OGO yet.

I was thinking the same thing but for the price I might still get it. I would prefer wireless web, but I bet I can get by without it.

1) how about RSS feeds being sent via e-mail... if there are any blogs or news sites you can go with that.

2) if you use AOL IM with it you can use AIM bots to get a lot of stuff you'd get on the web :)

3) This looks very cool, I'll have to research it more ..

(it will be a while before I get one of these things anyway, I'm now on cash) http://www.evolt.org/article/Accessing_the_internet_offline/25/23337/

it has a QWERTY keyboard. so that's a huge plus over a phone. That's what this device seems to be.. a replacement for a phone kindof a cell phone for the deaf... everything a modern phone has but no voice service. That's just the kind of thing I think a lot of people are looking for. why should I pay for all those voice minutes when I'll never ever use them?

In consumer reports ATT is far and away rated the worse for overall wireless service

No, it is not part of voice minutes. OGO say that only had been 3.00 a month for voice. Not to worry about it. We are not to worry about how add distance minutes.

Yep! That for sure about OGO Technology! I can't wait to get one. I can't wait!

i cannot stand this whenever I click on
the OGO website for details all of sudden
they changed into a full screen page
which i find very annoying... i wish they
could improve and change the full screen
size page into a smaller one...

I'm betting that thing will be at least $1,000....as expensive as a base level laptop computer. It's the smallest computer I've seen in the world so far that functions just like a real computer.

Scottw :boink:

All u can to go stop at AT&T Wireless store, locate at your hometown nor either one can order through OGO.com website !

But, my parent already order. I think so. But, my parent told me that will be release October. That mean, not know when it open OGO yet. That is why my parent told me so. I don't know when it will be open release. That what my dad told me.

It is neat but wish it can be a function just like pager.

Won't work everywhere. ugh!

I tried to order an Ogo today. I entered my shipping and billing information, and then it told me there is no service available in my area, UGH!! The stupid "coverage map" made it look like there would be... I guess I'll just get a cell phone .
