my dog, Abby, was a collie, who died motionless on the ground in my backyard this morning as I was going to give her some food and water before I leave for work and of course I am going to miss her very much because she was actually the best dog I've ever had...she was smart, she was playful, and she was very friendly and I only had her since 1996...so I almost had her for 9 years and she would be about 60 in dog years so she is actually pretty old.

so I guess I did cry like crazy and it's going to be pretty strange living in a house without her for so long...she was my favorite dog ever. :)

Please pray for her soul to rest in peace.

I'm sorry to hear of your dog's death, I understand what it feels like. I had a dog for years who died a few years ago. I really did mourn over it a lot for a couple weeks, and then it started to get better because I decided that good memories was important to hold, and not stay upset over the death. Not one day goes by where I don't think of my beloved dog.

I'm sorry, Steel. You have my condolences. I do know what it is like to lose a pet. :(

I'm sorry your dog died and know it's so hard on you. Remember all the good times you've had with her. I had a dog for 16 years and she is gone...it took me awhile to get over it, but I was thankful for all the good times we've had.

Me too. I lost my cat to cancer. She was 15. She was the best cat i ever had.

I know how you must feel right now—we just lost my wife’s little toy poodle last Saturday. It’s gonna hurt for awhile. Every morning you’re going to wake up expecting Abby to be there, but she won’t be. But someday the empty spot will fill itself. It just takes time. If you haven’t already, read my thread called 'The Rainbow Bridge'. I think you’ll find some comfort in it.

ur dog is in ur heart now... i know the feeling my dog died couple months ago put to sleep cuz she's in pain, and old.

when i go over to parents i feel funny there's no dog.. but through time i get used to it, but still miss the dog though.. hopefully i get a new puppy soon.

sorry to hear about your dog... I used to have a family dog which's a cocker spaniel whose was very loveable and protection all of our family. I basically grew up with my old dog until I was 17 years old, a week after my birthday he got a stroke, so my mom refuse to let our dog go but as week go by, our old house had 3 story with 6 bedroom, 3 1/2 bathroom with huge backyard so alot of work for us so had to put my dog to sleep, i got very emotional when my dog were put to sleep, i refused to see him died cuz i couldn't stand seeing a old loveable dog go... *sigh* what a memory but I know how the feeling are...

I held my cat in my lap at the vets office as she purr in her sleep and then purr stopped and vet took my cat wraped her up i buried her and cried for the whole day.

Awww Steel, I'm very sorry to learn of your loss....hang in there and cherish the good times you've had with your pet!

Oh my gosh, I can't imagine to live without my cats. I love them to death. Pumpkin and Garfield still sleep on my bed everynight. Every night I came home from work. I hugged and kissed them. They always cheer me up.

Would you adopt another cat? It will make you feel better ?? Or, you can't replace them ??
